With the rise of Prime Minister Erdogan's Islamic party to power in Turkey, wiping away nearly a century of secular Kemalist status-quo, Turkish-Israeli relations were already tense. Then after an Israeli raid on a Turkish flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip relations went from bad to worse. Now the Turkish government has threatened that if Israel refuses to issue a formal apology all formal relations will be severed. So far the Israeli government has not responded. The only question that remains is... will Turkey carry through with its threat?
