He Be Like Jesus!!

Check out this article from CNN, released two days ago, describing firsthand accounts of people from all different religions raving about how Pope Francis is the best thing since sliced bread.  He's popular and everybody loves him.  One ex-Baptist even thinks he's like Jesus.

Except, if popularity and love of truth is any measure, he's nothing like Jesus.  Jesus was unpopular, despised, hated, and rejected.  Jesus didn't do what sinners do or hang out for the sake of hanging out, He engaged with sinners to save them.  He removed them from a life of sin.

Jesus spoke unflinchingly of truth.  He spoke exclusively of sins committed against God and one's neighbor.  He focused almost entirely on man's spiritual condition and man's need for reconciliation with God.  Never did he speak about the 1.) The Environment/Global Warming, 2.) Protecting Mother Earth, 3.) The need for interfaith dialogue with pagan/satanic belief systems, 4.) The problem of unfettered capitalism.

Pope Francis is popular because he makes people comfortable being unreconciled to God.

Compare the Pope's popular "Jesus" with: John 15:19, Matthew 10:22, Proverbs 29:27, Matthew 24:9, Mark 13:13, Luke 21:17, John 15:18, Luke 12:51, John 15:21,

Compare the Pope's meek and mild "Jesus" with: John 10:18, Luke 12:49, Matthew 10:34-36, Matthew 26:53, Matthew 25:31, 1 Samuel 2:10, Revelation 19:11-16,

Love without truth is no love at all

  1. the Bible says in john ch 1 that Jesus was full of Grace and Truth. the very embodiment of both in full measure. (because He is God and we are not)
Truth without Grace is brutal, and Grace without Truth is hypocrisy.
Let God be True and every man a liar. Every man.....pope's included.
No. Pope Francis is not even a little bit like JESUS.
That is shameful to me for people to even suppose this....

  2. Well said, Andre. Right out! He is the full measure of both grace AND truth.

  3. There is only One ' Holy Father ', and that is God. We who are born of the Spirit call no one else by that name, so why do people who claim to be Christian call this man by that name. I have never understood this, and would call this blasphemy.
