Death of the watchers

45 years ago Hal Lindsey (age 86) published The Late Great Planet Earth and warned of God's impending rapture of the saints and judgment upon the remaining inhabitants of the earth.  Live long Hal.

The late (April 28th, 2014), Dr. Dwight Pentecost in 1958 (57 years ago) published the classic treatise on the end of the age in his work Things to Come.

The late, Dr. Grant Jeffrey who passed on May 11th, 2012 was a prolific writer on the end of the age and what is to come - link.  As best I can tell it was his prophecy study bible research that told us there were 8 times as many second coming prophecies as the first (I'm a bit fuzzy on this point) - link.

The late, Chuck Smith, who opened the door to his church in the 60's and was at ground zero of the Jesus Movement was also heavily involved in spreading the news of Christ's soon return.  Chuck died 2 years ago (10/3/2013).

Jack Kelley is another highly notable watcher, preacher and writer link.  He is now found to be filled with cancer.  Pray for Mr. Kelley.

Whaaaattttt....are you kidding....now Paul Begley is in the hospital with what may be an intestinal parasite and should recover. Praying for Pastor Paul. video

Harold Camping who famously asserted the end of the age in 2011 died in 2013.  He was wrong to pick a date, but he was write that we are close.

Jack Van Impe nearly died last spring.  He too is a watcher.  Grateful for his improvement.

Irvin Baxter who leads The End of the Age ministry at EndTimes.com had a heart attack and surgery last year.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NASB)
Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Peter 3:3-9 (NASB)
The Coming Day of the Lord
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

I know most aren't watching anyway, if you say something they mock and when they see the death of a watcher their resolve is strengthened.

For me the nearness of the hour is strengthened in my mind and spirit.
