Shemini Atzeret

Looking for the Blessed Hope

I'm continually hearing "no man knows the day or hour" at the expense of context and other verses that say quite literally the exact opposite (1 Thess. 5:4, Heb. 10:25, Rev. 3:3).  In the Olivet Discourse itself Jesus says it is the wicked servants who when the time comes will not know the day or hour (Matt. 24:50, Lk. 12:45-46).  The mind-numbing repetition of these words by scoffers is a startling admission of disregard for the whole counsel of God's Word.  It even shows theological ignorance when some argue that Jesus still doesn't know.  Of course He does.  He is God.  When Jesus spoke those words He was stating an unequivocal truth about the present reality then.  In the incarnation Jesus had "emptied Himself" of the full privileges and abilities of divinity (Phil. 2:6-8), but after His resurrection and ascension He resumed it all (Jn. 17:5, Eph. 4:10, Phil. 2:9, Rev. 1:8, 22:13).  Of course He now knows the day and hour, which is why He delivered the rest of withheld prophetic knowledge to His servant John (Rev. 1:1) who in turn delivered it to us.  When you say my Jesus still doesn't know you mock and belittle my God.

Jesus also sternly warned the Church to know the hour (Rev. 3:3).  Over 1/4th of the Bible is prophecy, most of which pertains to Jesus' second advent.  Dozens and dozens of signs are given to us by the Spirit of God so that we will know.  There is no excuse for walking in ignorance and sitting in the seat of scoffers.  It is unbecoming of those who claim a relationship with the Messiah.

Regarding date-setting I just want to say this: I am looking for the Blessed Hope and I will not stop looking until I find it.  I've been looking for 16 years.  I've thought many dates in the past were "it" and clearly I was wrong, but that won't dissuade me and it shouldn't dissuade you either.  There is a major difference between honest, collaborative, and speculative research that even presents itself as such, and the false prophet prognosticators who claim to have special prophetic insight and a word from the LORD when they don't have either.

God wants us to know (Matt. 24:48-51, Lk. 12:35-40, 1 Thess. 5:4, Heb. 10:25, Rev. 1:1, 3:3) and to seek Him (Deut. 4:29, Prov. 25:2, Jer. 29:13, Matt. 7:7).  The scoffers are full of arrogance and puffed up with pride, never approaching Scripture with a sense of awe or humility or respect for the authority of other Believers.  They are always so overly confident in what they think they know.  When I look back at what I've shared over the past few years it was always accompanied with "I don't know for sure", "I could be wrong", "this is speculation", "I'm not a prophet", "I used to think this, but I think differently now", etc.  Even our viral Revelation 12 Sign videos with collectively over seven million views end with "No one knows with certainty the day or hour".  Before September 21-23 came and went I had already made clear in these videos as well as on The Sign page that we were not counting down to the day of the rapture.  This was always just a sign of the nearness of the rapture and we made that abundantly clear in many ways - not just after the fact as some claim.  Of course we had hope that Yom Teruah might be the day, and a little bit of hope that Yom Kippur could have been the day, but this was always presented as such - speculative hope.  Yet mockers and scoffers will mock and scoff, twisting words, falsely accusing, and using nothing but straw-men, because that's all they can do.  Satan rules their hearts.

So is there a contradiction here?  Am I saying we can know, but yet we can't?  Let me be clear: I believe that when the day truly comes there will be those watching who will know.  The key subtlety I'm trying to push is certainty.  I don't think any Christian will know the day or hour with certainty until the day or hour actually comes.  Everything leading up to the day is speculation, but eventually some speculation will closely accord with Scripture and thus some Believers will have a pretty good idea of what's about to happen and when.  The humble, longing, and watchful will not be caught by surprise, but the ignorant will (1 Thess. 5:3-4).

A division and sifting is presently underway in Christendom, if not already complete, between those who say they have faith and those who really do have faith.  Salvation comes through faith alone, but there is a difference between professing faith and actually possessing faith.  Faith is in the heart, not just the head.  Those who truly have faith are not going to be continually lying, beating, and falsely accusing their brothers.  Even angels restrain themselves from scoffing at their enemies (Jd. 1:9).

But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.  The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.  He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
- Matt. 24:48-51

According to Matthew 24:48-51, Luke 12:45-46, 1 Thessalonians 5:3-5:4, and Revelation 3:3 the message is quite clear: the watchful will know, but the wicked and ignorant will be caught by surprise when Jesus comes to them like a thief in the night.

No one who mocks and scoffs will get away with it forever.  No one.

A final thought about date-setting: we should never set a date as a "thus saith the LORD".  We could be wrong.  We're looking, hoping, and speculating because we truly believe Jesus' appearing is imminent.  That being said, I think Christians who refuse to watch and study Bible prophecy because they don't want to get peoples' hopes up and then have them "fall away" are making a mistake.  The truly faithful are faithful to the end.  Those who have the root of faith, who are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, will not fall away (Jn. 5:24, 6:37-39, 10:28-29, 17:9-12, Rm. 4:5, 6:23, 8:38-39, Eph. 1:13, 4:30, Phil. 1:6, Heb. 7:25, 10:14, 1 Pt. 1:4-5).  If they get distracted or burned out it is only for a season.  There is simply no acceptable excuse not to watch, research, and long for the Lord's coming.

A Likely Day

My focus has now turned to Shemini Atzeret ("Eighth Assembly"), October 13th - the very last day of the very last festival (Lev. 23:36, Num. 29:35-38), which would make this quite literally the last trump of the moedim.  According to Numbers 10:7-10, trumpets would be blown at least twice on this day.  The first to gather God's people to a special assembly unlike any other (moed assumblies are called miqra, but this assembly is also called atzeret).  And the second as an accompaniment to an offering made by fire.  I've been pouring through commentaries and there seems to be a pretty good consensus that Psalm 81:3b refers to the Feast of Tabernacles, which is significant because it specifies that a shophar would also be blown around this time.  Consider the significance of this festival:

1. It's the very last day of the very last festival.  This makes it undeniably "the last trump", at least in relation to the moedim.  Some argue that it is really its own moed.

2. It is to the Fall festivals what Pentecost is to the Spring festivals - the closing assembly.

3. The major significance of this day is that the people of God are gathered together in a special sacred assembly unlike any other.  This gathering is made when the trumpet is blown (Num. 10:7) and thus it is the very last gathering by trumpet made in the biblical year.  This comports with the Church being resurrected and raptured at the sound of a trumpet (1 Thess. 4:16-17, 1 Cor. 15:52) and then being gathered together before God's throne (Rev. 4:1-2, 12:5).

4. Every biblical number study I've seen is in agreement that eight represents both resurrection and a new beginning.  Jesus rose on the eighth day.  There were eight in the ark.  A male child is circumcised on the eighth day.  This "eighth-day assembly" is thus the perfect timing for a resurrection and gathering and for the putting off of the flesh (spiritual circumcision) in accordance with 1 Corinthians 15:51-53.  From the final blood moon on September 28, 2015 (a supermoon visible over Jerusalem) to October 13, 2017 is 746 days.  Strong's 746 is "beginning".

5. The first seven days of Tabernacles involve dwelling in temporary shelters, just as Believers are dwelling in these temporary, fleshly bodies.  On the prophetic eighth day we are taken to our permanent home in permanent, spiritual bodies.

6. Shemini Atzeret involves an offering made by fire.  On Pentecost the disciples of Christ were designated when fire descended upon them (see Acts 2).  Could that be a picture of the sacrifice designated to be offered to God on some future Shemini Atzeret?  Again, keep in mind the fact that this day is the close of the Fall festivals just as Pentecost is the close of the Spring festivals - they both represent the close of dispensations and the beginning of new ones.

7. The traditional, most widely agreed upon day for Christ's physical return is the Day of Atonement.  In 2024 that falls on October 13th, exactly seven solar years to the day from Shemini Atzeret 2017.  The two dates are separated by 2,557 days.  The Tribulation is 1,260 + 1,290 days, or 2,550 days.  This typology fits well with Genesis 7 and Noah and his family entering the ark seven days before the Flood came.  Might the Tribulation begin on October 20th?  Maybe, maybe not, but I'm paying attention.

8. The root word for atzeret is atsar, which means "to restrain" (Strong's 6113).  Could this unique and special assembly have something to do with God gathering together His restraining force, which is the Holy Spirit-indwelt Church?  Could this gathering be connected to the removal of the Restrainer mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 6-7?

The Surprising Connection to the Revelation 12 Sign

While I was researching Shemini Atzeret I made a startling discovery: I had noticed the significance of October 13, 2017 way back in January in my viral Revelation 12 Sign Compendium article as a possible watch date.  The reason being that it was the exact day Jupiter truly leaves Virgo.  September 9th and 23rd were subjective in that regard.

9:00 PM in Israel on October 13, 2017

Unbeknownst to me at the time, October 13th just happens to be Shemini Atzeret with all the possible rapture connections mentioned above.

Now it gets even more interesting.  Many researchers (myself included) thought the conception of the male child was portrayed on November 20, 2016 when Jupiter crossed the boundary between Spica and Porrima, but a number of others noted that December 23, 2016 was a better date, which was just a few days after Jupiter crossed the boundary between Spica and Theta Virginis and "implanted" in Virgo's belly.  December 23, 2016 was also the date of the historic anti-Israel resolution 2334 that was approved by the United Nations Security Council, which demanded that God's land be divided.  Exactly 42 weeks to the day from December 23, 2016 is October 13, 2017 - Shemini Atzeret and the day Jupiter leaves Virgo.  Could this be the actual date of the birth of the male child and Revelation 12:5?  38 to 42 weeks is considered a perfect/normal pregnancy.

Keep in mind that the Great Sign of Revelation 12:1-2 is of a woman in labor, not the birth of the male child.  The birth doesn't occur until verse 5.  These dates, like the rest of this research, are speculative, but consider:

Conception: 12/23/16

Woman in labor (The Great Sign): 9/23/17 - 9/24/17

Birth of the male child: 10/13/17

According to Micah 5:3 the dispensational change between the Church Age and the Tribulation doesn't occur until the woman gives birth (the corporate male child), thus September 23rd didn't mark the change in dispensation - it only marked the nearness to the ultimate event: the rapture of the Church.

Concluding Thoughts

As the unstable are apt to cause confusion, add words, and twist what Believers say, I think I should go ahead and nip this in the bud: our hope should never be in a date, but in Jesus Christ.  We are longing for the day when we will be with Him forever (1 Thess. 4:17-18), which is a longing that fewer and fewer "Christians" seem to share.  I see some good, perhaps even compelling reasons to be especially watchful this week and next and especially on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week, but dates can come and go.  We will keep watching with vigilance no matter what because the time is at hand (Rev. 1:3, 22:10).  We are just half a year away from the 70th anniversary of the rebirth of Israel.  People are already buying into a precursor to the mark of the beast hook, line, and sinker, and now we see the beginning stages of the fulfillment of Revelation 13:15.  When you start seeing minute details coming into fruition that are fulfilled during the Tribulation, how much closer are we to the Tribulation's start and possibly the rapture?

Keep watching, studying, and praying my friends.  Jesus is on the way.  Don't be shaken and hold fast.

Maranatha!

    7. The Full Moon Mid October is a "Harvest Moon" also called a "Travel Moon" (google it in Farmer's Almanac).

From the First Blood Moon in the Tetrad, April 15th, 2014 to October 12th, 2017 (the Shemini Atzeret - 8th day according to Heb Cal) is 1276 days

And Strongs 1276 Greek word is "Cross Over" diaperao -

And if we include the end date or go to Gary's October 13th date would be 1277 days,

And strongs 1277 Greek word is diapleo - "To Sail Across"

And From the Fist Blood Moon (April 15th, 2014 to October 4th, 2017) is 1268 days, and Strongs 1268 Greek Word is dianemo - "Divide into Portions"

October 4th, 2017 Sundown is the actual beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles according to Heb Cal.

    8. Yes good! Thank you! It's October 12th the eight day can't be October 13th just because Jupiter exits Virgo. Read book Numbers in Scripture by EW Bullinger he has a great sub chapter of 8 and 13 together. Also have any of you watchers ever looked up what the Jews named Jupiter? I have yet to hear anyone after watching 40-50 utube videos of all this end time signs just since July 20 th this year when I first learned of Rev 12 sign and of anyone speaking about Jupiters Hebrew name! Jews named Jupiter justice or righteousness. Look it up! This is where further revelation interpretation leads. Not a Roman god named Jupiter! Or it being Father God or some other attempt of meaning but go to the Hebrew. Justice exits on the 13th! It could represent the start of Tribultation. The number 13 from first mention biblically speaks of rebellion. 8 by itself represents resurrection and regeneration and the beginning of a new era or order in scripture. But if rapture does not happen on the 8 th day this year it still is a win win for those of us in preparation for the next great outpouring of the Spirit on the whole Body of Christ world wide not just on certain streams. Check out church history after every major event 1897/1917/1947/1967! Find the pattern the common threads! It's a win win exciting times we are partaking in! What a honor and privilege of His grace to be born for such a time as this!

    9. Right now people are considering the Feast of Tabernacles mainly because it's the last feast. But the reason the rapture has not happened is because the cleansing period, as many thought, is not 7 days but 40 days. We should have not counted 40 days from the solar eclipsed which is a different matter, but counted 40 days from the birth which occurred on September 9th to arrive at the actual day the rapture could very well take place on. 10. The 70th Week of Daniel starting on the Great 8th Day and ending on Yom Teruah, The Day of YHWH !!!

The following are some DATE CALCULATIONS I did using October 11-12, 2017 as the Great 8th Day and how they line up with future Feasts (Moeds) scheduled on the Hillel 2 calendar. The Hillel 2 calendar this year had Yom Teruah / New Moon / the 1st day of the 7th Month line up with the New Moon at conjunction on September 20th-21st 2017.

*Disclaimer: I'm not saying the Hillel 2 calendar is official or accurate but am saying the sequence of events work with no manipulation.

I believe the sequence of events will work and slide respectively if another date is used for the Great 8th Day. Such as The Great 8th Day being October 12-13, 2017 based on the sighting of the new moon sighting from Jerusalem on September 21st, making the evening of September 21-22 the 1st Day of the 7th month. The future dates/ moedim would respectively slide.

*Important to note: Friday the 13th of October is when Jupiter converges with / intersects Virgo's constellation line which I believe to be the "coming forth" of the man child in Revelation 12:5

All in All, I believe the start to finish of the 70th week starting on the Great 8th Day and ending on Yom Teruah / The DAY of YHWH (Yahshua's return) is the correct sequence of events and I believe the resurrection and assention of the Two Witness (after 3.5 days dead in the streets of Jerusalem) proves this, which will occur on a Passover/1st Day Feast of Unleavened Bread as you will see below.

#1 The start and end of Daniel's 70th week and The DAY of YHWH:

Sunset October 11, 2017 + 2550 days (70th week of Daniel) = Sunset October 4, 2024 (which happens to be sunset Friday) aka: Yom Teruah 2024

The 2,550th day would be Sunset October 3rd-4th. Yom Teruah, The Day of YHWH!!!

#2 The death and rising of the Two Witnesses:

Sunset October 11, 2017 + 1,260 days = Sunset March 24, 2021 (No Feast Day occurs on this, but would be the Death of the Two Witnesses, Revelation 11:3 & 11:7)

*If the Two Witnesses Die at Sunrise of March 24, 2021+ 3.5 days (Revelation 11:11-13) = Sunset March 27, 2021 (Which is Passover!!!)

*If the Two Witnesses Die at Sunset of March 24, 2021+ 3.5 days (Revelation 11:11-13) = Sunrise March 28, 2021 (Which is the 1st Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread!!!)

      #3 The abomination of desolation:

Sunset October 4, 2024 - 1,290 days (Daniel 12:11) = Sunset March 24, 2021, The Abomination of Desolation will occur on the same day the beast kills the Two Witnesses in Jerusalem, Revelation 11:7.

#4 The 45th day from Yahshua's Return as King

Sunset March 24, 2021 + 1,335 days (Daniel 12:12) = November 18, 2024 ("Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the 1,335th day.")

The Question then goes back to which day is the 1st Day of the 7th Month, Conjunction or Sighting from Jerusalem? And respectively which day is the correct Great 8th Day? Me, I'm leaning to the Great 8th Day with a heavenly sign.

    1. I'm not sure about that. I bet the Israelites celebrated it during the day when the priests blew the trumpet, but we're looking for the trumpet of God. It's really a good question... perhaps it's at the very last moment. God is never late, but rarely early. Also I'm looking more towards the 10/12 - 10/14 range given that there is always some ambiguity in regards to which calendar to use (Hillel, Karaite, Torah Calendar, etc).

    3. Thanks Gary for a great article. And I will watch with you 12th to 14th. And I also find interesting the youtube from one year ago: The Rapture on The TRUE Feast of Trumpets: October 21-23, 2017? I find it very interesting how strongs concordance connects the blood moons as signs. i never doubted those blood moons were part of God's end time signs. the most interesting one is 726 - i do not doubt in the slightest way that strongs 726 greek is rapture (harpatzo), and i do not doubt in the slightest way that the one day in 2017 that jerusalem comes closest to 726 daylight minutes is sept 23rd. and that there are 726 days between the last blood moon of sept 28th, 2015 to sept 23rd, 2017 (the revelation 12 sign). no doubt in my mind that God put all that together. it is a sign that the rapture is coming soon. like a sign that says Bridge out - it does not mean the very moment you drive pass that sign you fall into the river. it is a warning sign for what is up ahead. God bless.

  10. Excellent. Thank you for your analysis. I have been following your page only since Sep 20, 2017 and just because you have speculated some possible dates, does not invalidate you. You have definitely been clear that you are acting as a watchman -- one who lets us know as you see possible things. One question: you say, "the watchful will know, but the wicked and ignorant will be caught by surprise when Jesus comes to them like a thief in the night." Obviously knowing the day and the hour is not a prerequisite for salvation, but how do we deal with the middle ground folks? I mean true Christians who are not paying attention to the signs? They will be raptured right? I hope I am making sense.

    1. Yes, I have been thinking along the same lines. I know many people who aren't truly mean scoffers, but brush off the idea that we can know much about it. End times study is not their thing, but they are definitely saved. I know they will be raptured, but I think maybe this is where the crowns come in.There is a crown for those who love His appearing. So they might not receive that reward, is what I would say.

      Delete
    2. There are many bible teachers who long for Jesus's return and pay attention to current events (signs) but are opposed to date setting. They will receive the Crown of Righteousness too. 2 Timothy 4:8. Notice WHO gives the crown, the Righteous Judge. He decides who gets it, not us.

    4. I'm curious about the term "date setting"....we have 69 weeks of years to the day from Artaxerxes edict to Messiah the Prince, and Messiah chastised His fellow Jews for not recognizing the times they were in......

Jesus stated "there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars"...how do you propose the signs be recognized?

Daniel states day counts of 1260, 1290, and 1335....how do propose the day counts be understood if you don't know when the day count begins?

    5. Thank you brothers and sisters for your wisdom. I am having trouble understanding something. The various verses and parables that tell us to be watchful about His return seem to put everyone in two categories. Category one equals if you are watchful ("watchful" encompasses anyone watching for Christs return, whether they are from a school of thought that believes we can know a fairly precise time or from a school of thought that believes we wont know the day), you will know when He is returning and you will be accepted or raptured. Category two is if you are not watchful, He will return like a thief and you are not accepted and, in at least one parable (Matthew), therefore cut into pieces and thrown out. Now what about people who are not specifically paying attention to the signs and prophecy, but are clearly Christ-centered believers? Shouldnt there be a third category? In other words there seems to be a contradiction. The Bible indicates faith in Christ as the only prerequisite for going to heaven, but the passages discussing His return seem to indicate being watchful for Him as a requirement.

I have two possible answers rolling around in my head. One answer is the third category is simply left out of the passages about His return but should be inferred or understood. The other answer is that we may as the time gets close be forced into a distinct dichotomy with no possible middle ground or category three. As time gets close, something could occur that would force the faithful who are not paying attention to the signs of His return to begin paying attention. This could be a horrible event or maybe an awakening of the church, or something else. Help me understand. Thank you.

    6. The partial rapture theory is just as easily debunked as works based salvation. If you're in the body of Christ you're getting raptured, the message is you want to be ready when Christ comes to catch you up, rather than to be caught of guard as a thief. This is so we are not ashamed at the rapture, but ready with eyes on the Lord.

    1. Seems plausible. I dont know why you say there are so many Christian scoffers. I dont see that. I see the unsaved scoffing. I see the Christians who are saying "no one knows the day or hour", they are anxious for Jesus's return just as much as anyone else. They dont have to follow signs and every new date that comes up to long for the return of Jesus. I think it was an important day on 11/13/2015, becaus the eiffeltower had the all seeing eye on that day, as predicted in the illuminati card game:
      http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/11/13/eiffel-tower-lights-off-dark-paris-terrorist-attacks/

When you start counting from 9/23 21 days as it is written in Daniel, you get:
      1. day =Sep 23 (first day of fight) ...
      21. day = 10/13/2017 (last day of fight and Michael will win)

Rev 12: 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Daniel 10: 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel 12: 12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

  16. Gary- I hope your response to my post here puts me at ease. You comment to the mockers and scoffers. If someone disagrees with a pretrib rapture as I do, that in my mind is not mocking or scoffing. Mocking or scoffing would be like saying..."ha, you idiot Christians, we are still here."

I have stated many times I wish pretrib were correct. Also, I most humbly pray for enlightenment and discernment each day before I study in my Bible.

I was raised pretrib and believed it till I was 60. I started really studying Revelation, Daniel, Isaiah and other areas. I would find stuff that didn't fit and the more I studied , the more certain I became.

Please clarify if I was inadvertently painted with a broad paint brush. There in fact has been direct mockery and scoffing here in your blog, but I sure hope I am not one of them in your eyes. If so, we need to talk much more.

    1. Stan, if anyone judges you as a mocker or scoffer that is on them. There is only one judge and that is not anyone on this planet. If you believe in post or mid or no rapture that is fine. Own it. All this name calling going on, people will have to answer for it. When the rapture happens none of us will be looking around and saying to those who didnt believe, "I told you so". All this date stuff will be moot. Jesus will be the only thing that we care about.

Dear Stan just compare todays' gospel message of Acts 16:31 and Romans 3:24 with the gospel being preached during tribulation period Revelation 14:6-12 and then think about God not being an author of confusion 1 Corinthians 14:33 how can two different types of gospel messages be preached at the same time? Wouldn't the first one have to cease before the second becomes valid? Please check out Robert Breakers YouTube video teaching on "Tribulation Gospel" to shed more light onto your belief. 4. Hi Stan, I completely agree with you. You can disagree with me and I still love you. I take no offense with disagreement. I mean mocking and scoffing in the literal sense.

There are those who claim to follow Christ who are literally mocking and scoffing at their brothers and sisters. Mocking is making fun of, berating, trying to cause harm, acting arrogantly/superior, etc. Disagreement doesn't have anything to do with it.

    5. Gary- Thanks for your reply. That cleared up my thoughts the way I hoped they would. I was getting "edgy" when it seemed right after a post where I kindly disagreed, someone would use the words mocking or scoffing.

In my opinion, anyone mocking or scoffing the rapture might as well be directing it right to Christ.....and though that wouldn't be blasphemy, its too close to call...in my opinion.

That said read Matthew 28:20 Jesus says "Lo I am with with you always, even unto the end of the world." For any trib to start the holy spirit must be removed. Does that mean He must abandon us and His promise in Mat 28:20?

  19. No man does know the day or hour, that's a stone cold fact. If any of you think you do know it, then share it with us. The constant berating of people who believe in the imminent return of Christ doesn't become you. Frankly, it makes me want to stop visiting this site.

Does God have an appointed time for Christ's return? You bet he does. Has he revealed it in scripture? I believe so, I think it's there somewhere, but we don't/can't/won't see it. I think when we get to the other side, it'll be so obvious to us that it was right in front of our noses all along but we didn't understand.

But people like Gary Stearman are not your enemy. They believe in the imminent return of Christ, as do I. It can happen tonight, as far as we know. And until it does, we won't know. But there's little cause for anyone to be angry at those who dismissed this interpretation of the "sign". I thought the guy with Chuck Missler's organization couldn't be more gracious about it. They just took standing upon that "sign" as something significant as setting a date, and frankly, many others, including Scott Clarke did - essentially - set a date. To say otherwise is arguing semantics. Scott Clarke would say this sign foretold the rapture, but stopped short of saying it would be that day. Of course, he would return and say that Sept 24th and 25th also could be that day. He hinted strongly, as did many others.

Again, if no man knows the day or hour is an incorrect interpretation (and I don't need to tell anyone that many Godly, knowledgeable people would disagree with that assertion), then tell me when the rapture is. But of course, you can't. Because no man knows the day or hour.

It almost seems that the tables have now turned; if one has reservations at all about date setting, they are chastised, mocked, and even their salvation questioned. My journey with the Lord began 4 years ago, and I love Him with all my heart. It’s getting harder and harder to find Christian websites that welcome all views and questions; they either outright ignore the question/comment they disagree with, or worse—chastise those with valid questions/viewpoints. My walk has become more solitary these days, as the arrogance and unChristian behavior on most websites is heartbreaking. 7. "No man does know the day or hour, that's a stone cold fact. If any of you think you do know it, then share it with us."

How can you know that? How can you just set aside Matt. 24:48-51, Lk. 12, 1 Thess. 5:4, Heb. 10:25, Rev. 1:1, 3:3, etc?

If you go back and read my article you'll recognize that I addressed this. I believe Christians should be watchful and KNOW, but I don't think we will ever know with *certainty* until the day comes.

Imminency can be taken to such an extreme that people start predicting in reverse: "nope, He can't come on 9/23", "definitely can't come on 9/30", "I know He won't come on 10/13". That's a dangerous game. You're right that we don't know with certainty, but I think the Scriptures are pretty much crystal clear that watchful Christians will not be caught be surprise when the day and hour come.

"The constant berating of people who believe in the imminent return of Christ doesn't become you. Frankly, it makes me want to stop visiting this site"

Friend, this is the kind of scoffing I'm talking about. Who I am berating? I mentioned no names. My frustration is with false accusations, mocking, scoffing, etc. If you believe in imminency then more power to you. You're still by brother in Christ. I'm not berating anyone for holding to different doctrines or beliefs.

My issue is with those who claim to follow the Lord and then call one another "idiots", "internet nobodies", "false prophets", etc.

"But people like Gary Stearman are not your enemy."

This is what I mean by straw-men. When did I ever berate Gary? These false accusations have got to stop if Christians are going to fellowship and love one another.

    8. Matt 24:36....I totally agree that "no man knows the day or the hour".

When the disciples asked this question (the Jewish disciples mind you), the asked Jesus (1) when would these things happen (2) what would the sign of your coming (3) and of the end of the age. These were Jewish disciples that were asking Jesus when He would establish is millennial reign. Being that they were looking for the messiah (because they were Jewish), they were asking about the millennial reign. The rapture is a church concept...not Jewish concern.

Jesus was still alive to deliver these words. The church hadn't even been started yet. That (the beginning of the church) happened several weeks later at Pentecost. Jesus announced the coming of the church when He said to Thomas, "You believe because you see, blessed are those who believe without seeing". This wasn't admonishment to Thomas as much as it was a birth announcement. John is the one to reveal the mystery in 1Cor 15:51 "Listen, I tell you a mystery...." where John goes on to describe the rapture. It was a mystery before this time....hence the Jewish disciples wouldn't have known to ask about it.

Matthew 24:35-36 - 35 HEAVEN AND EARTH SHALL PASS AWAY, but my words shall not pass away.

36 But of THAT (emphasis mine) day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
When we're raptured, Heaven and Earth do not pass away. If you're pre-trib, you still have 7 years + the 1000 year reign of Christ BEFORE a new Heaven and Earth are created. Post Trib....you still have the 1000 year reign before the new Heaven and Earth pass way. These verses are read independent of each other, and they shouldn't be. Scripture never had chapter breaks...those were inserted by man. Jesus was not talking about the rapture in Matt 24:36. The end of the millennium is marked by the start of eternity (and the great white thrown judgement). I believe this is what day we can't know the "day or hour" of.

Finally, not knowing doesn't follow the pattern establish by scripture. (Noah, Moses, Joseph, Joshua, Elisha/Elijah, etc, etc, etc). It also would be in conflict with the multiple pieces of scripture that Gary cited above. Rev 3:3 especially.

Do I know the date....nope! Are there people out there just throwing everything against the wall...yep! At the right time, I'm confident we will know when he is coming to get us....will it be years, months, weeks, days, hours ahead of time? I don't know that, but I'm waiting to find out. However, that doesn't mean we don't watch and dig, and inquire, and pray for confirmation. People will wait differently..someone will go to sleep to pass the time, some will engage in an activity to pass the time, and some will wait expectantly. Just something to think about before we throw the "holy hand grenade" known as "no man knows the day or hour" at a brother/sister because, I 100% agree with you...."No man can know the day or hour" that was talked about in Matt 24:36....it's just not talking about the rapture.

    1. That's also one month after the Sign, and the moon has completed its trek around the planet. I believe the moon moving through the constellations has been telling the story of what is about to happen. God is showing ahead of time what He's about to do first, then the rapture. I think on that date, the moon will be back under Virgos feet. It's a completion. I got to thinking one day, who's under our feet? Satan. What if the moon represented Satan, and it's reminding him also what his future is about to be?

  21. Or it's possible that the 13th of October has nothing to do with the birth of the church but only the Fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles and the ingathering of the church the way I see it trumpets was fulfilled by the birth of the church atonement was fulfilled by the circumcision or the Redemption of the church and Tabernacles may be fulfilled by The Rapture and the ingathering of the church

Strongs has some interesting points in my opinion:

From the Last blood moon, Sept 28th, 2015 to October 4th - Strongs is Arti "Now", and to October 5th is Ari = Lion (The Lion of the Tribe of Judah)

From Sept 28th, 2015 to October 12th (the Shmini Atzeret according to Hebcal) is 745 days - Strongs 745 is a name in Greek "Archelaos" that means "People Ruling". But Hebrew is Aryeh, a name that is also related to Lion. So Lion comes up twice - And if the end date is included in the calculation, then we would get 746 and as Gary has pointed out, we would get arche, "Beginning". God is good!

  24. Gary, looking for the Blessed Hope is commendable, but surely it is clear that the Blessed Hope will not come before the end of the Church Age?
There are yet many churches, mine included, which are still seeing numbers of the lost coming to Christ. The Church Age continues.

In Matthew 24 the disciples asked Jesus, "What is the sign of your coming and the END OF THE AGE?" This is what we should be looking for.
Matthew 24:6-8 says, "...but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows."

The end is not yet, all these are the beginning of sorrows. - - - Then, six verses later, "...then shall the end come." The End of the Church Age.
The Blessed Hope, the harpazo, cannot come before the period Jesus called "The Beginning of Sorrows" takes place.

  25. Welcome back, Gary. I've been praying for you.

PLEASE keep up the search! You're spot-on per doing just that. And, it is so refreshing to check in daily what's on Unsealed.org.

Per the Feasts, the Feast of Tabernacles represents the millennial reign of Christ on the earth. The 8th day, or Last Great Day, represents the Great White Throne Judgement.

When Jesus said, "and, I will raise him up on the last day", those listening would have known it meant the Last Great Day. fwiw, that's those in the SECOND resurrection.

I'd love to be wrong and outta here. But, I do think a literal fulfillment of the fall Holy Days are the best best given Christ did exactly that with the spring Holy Days.

Regardless of whether it falls on that day or not, PLEASE keep up the research and writing. My prayers are with you at Unsealed.org.

October 4th, 2017 Sundown is the actual beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles.

Now only God knows the Day and the Hour. This is just observations, and in my opinion it is possibly very significant as signs even as Jesus clearly said, There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars....

  27. 1 Corinthians 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
    5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
    6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

  30. Gary, I pray that you are right, as I am so ready to escape that drama now being played out on the world’s stage. Even where I work, which is not currently dealing with direct challenges, the tension and pace are reaching a tipping point. I am having a hard time focusing on anything but His imminent return (and my children’s salvation).

I believe the most important question about Paul’s reference to the last trump is this: does it refer to the seventh and final trumpet in the closing book of history, Revelation 11:15? If the first six trumpets have already been sounded (and I have read some suggestions elsewhere that they have or are in the process of being fulfilled) then indeed we are only waiting for the seventh trumpet to be sounded. If so then chronologically in Revelation, chapter 12 seems to be exactly where are supposed to be in time. Lord let it be so! However, if Paul’s reference does not refer to the seventh trumpet in Revelation, what does that say? Seems to me that for all the puzzle pieces to fit together, it has to be. I’m looking for suggestions here!

Revelation 14:12 calls for the endurance of the saints. Who are these people; I always considered them to be the true disciples of Jesus Christ that made up his Church. Many would argue that after Revelation 4 the church is not mentioned suggesting that we have all been raptured at this point. It is true the church is not referred to directly by name again but IMHO the church, as an organized entity is already mostly gone and all that is left are pockets of true believers that attend something that used to resemble church. Therefore, the true church is now just those individual believers who do have saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. If this is US, then we may yet have some waiting, but I certainly pray that is not the case.

This, business of biblical eschatology, is the most difficult subject I have ever worked on. I believe that if it were not for sites like Unsealed and others that try to rightly divide the Word of God, I would still be completely in the dark. Each day we learn something new that bring the picture more into focus.

God Bless and keep up the good work!!!

  31. Very good article. It makes a lot of sense to me. Plus, you have what looks to be the second half of the sign, Rev 12 3-4, taking place during the week leading up to it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Possibile Interpretations if the Lord intended these signs from Strongs:

The time is now - Time for the Lion of the Tribe of Judah - Time for the People who will rule - Time to cross over - Time for those ready to sail across - Time for the Lord to divide those saved and those unsaved - Time for a New Beginning for the saved - Time for the Beginning of Tribulation for those Left Behind - I am My Beloved's and My Beloved is Mine Song of Songs 6:3 Ani Ledodi veledodi Li

Hebcal (Hebrew Calendar dot com) lists Succoth (Feast of Tabernacles) as beginning on October 5th (technically October 4th sundown) and ending on the evening of October 11th. And October 13th is listed as Day of Celebrating the Torah (Simchat Torah). But....

    3. Here we go with the number thing, but we should not or rather, cannot ignore it...

12 is considered a perfect number which symbolizes God's power and authority, as well as serving as the # for a perfect governmental foundation.

12 can also symbolize completeness or the nation of Israel as a whole.

      http://www.biblestudy.org/bibleref/meaning-of-numbers-in-bible/12.html

On the other hand, 13 is symbolic of rebellion and lawlessness.

Would God choose a divine #/date to gather His Church from this rebellious and lawless world (13)?

And yes, this would be using the Gregorian calendar, yet it also falls on His calendar as it would 'wrap up' His Feast of Ingathering.

  38. The 13th Oct is the 8th day if we are basing the count on the day new moon was actually seen in Israel - ie 1st Tishri on 22nd Sept (not 21st as per Hebcal).

If you use Stellarium to find out the exact time Jupiter leaves Virgo on the 13th Oct - you will discover it leaves almost exactly at sunset - the first of it's moons (Thebe) leaves just before sunset (Patmos time) and the complete 'birth' is finished a few hours later. This is amazing considering the 8th day finishes at sunset. It was be a beautiful time for the rapture to occur :)

This is due to the month of aviv, ripening of the barley harvest that came late this year thus pushing the feast days forward by a month. 43. Revelation 12 describes the woman who gives birth to the child as being "clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head."
Virgo doesn't fit this description on October 13th.

Also. wasn't one of the positive aspects of the Sign of the Woman thought to be that Jupiter remaining in Virgo's womb for just over 9 months matched a normal human pregnancy?
--using the same logic one would therefore expect her labour to do the same, ie be completed within a relatively short time span. a few days at the most.
The nearness of the birth is mentioned in the Rev passage itself-"she was about to give birth.'

October 13th, however, is 20 days away from the day of the Sign-, far too long for a woman who was about to give birth to have been in labour.

In other words, the notion that Virgo gives birth to Jupiter on October 13th bears no relation to what is written in Rev 12.

    1. You have a point about the length of labor. It can vary a lot from woman to woman. Some it's just hours, others it's days. 3-4 day labors are not terribly uncommon. The record labor (that I'm aware of) was twins for 75 days.

But about the Great Sign, it says she was pregnant and in pain to deliver. It doesn't say she already had the baby and neither does it say she was "about to deliver" (in the Greek).

      Hope that helps.

The birth is in verse 5.

    3. Days as hours? As in the sixth seal where there was silence in heaven for the space of half an hour?

    4. The birth is in verse 5

Yes, the birth is in verse 5 but presumably the woman giving birth at that point is clothed with the sun with the moon at her feet etc
That is why September 23rd was considered to be a likely date for the birth/rapture --the stellar alignment matched up with verse 12

On October 13th Virgo is no longer clothed in the sun with the moon at her feet-in other words the stellar alignment doesn't match verse 12 on that day
If it had matched then all those youtube videos would have been talking about the October 13th sign rather than the September 23rd sign.

  47. One thing that has just been burning in my mind about the last few weeks is that we are saying Jesus will fulfill the feasts. My big question is why we are assuming that the Rapture event will be part of that. Could not the second coming be when He finishes fulfilling the feasts. With that in mind, seems we would be better focused on the second coming date and just work backwards 2520 days to say ... we hope to be out of here before THIS date. The Jubilee makes much more sense and has many biblical references to be when the second coming is. This year was not it in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Could be! I never want to put God in a box. Some people say the rapture MUST happen on a festival. Others say it can't happen on a festival because Jesus already fulfilled the festivals.

I think both sides put God in a box. The Bible says the festivals were shadows of things to come. Jesus died on Passover, was buried on Day #1 of Unleavened Bread, was raised on First Fruits, and sent the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. There is evidence He was born on Trumpets or Tabernacles and He was also transfigured on Tabernacles.

God is a God of order and these are HIS festivals, not Israel's, so I would think it would be more likely that major prophetic events of significance in the future would occur on a festival of some sort, but again - it doesn't have to be. The Ascension didn't occur on a festival.

I say study hard and see what fits, but always be willing to change opinions and traditions to accord with God's Word.

So true, tough to place an alive and active thing into a box, especially our Creator who created everything from nothing but Himself!

My high school reunion is on Saturday the 14 of October. I never really talked or knew the girl from school so why was she in my dream? A sign? 52. One more pin-point...

"Exactly 42 weeks to the day from December 23, 2016 is October 13, 2017 - Shemini Atzeret and the day Jupiter leaves Virgo. Could this be the actual date of the birth of the male child and Revelation 12:5? 38 to 42 weeks is considered a perfect/normal pregnancy." (Quoting Gary above)

Forty two (42) is an interesting number as it is equivalent to 3-1/2 years and the length of time the AC. But it has a generational reference as well in the generations of the Christ via Joseph in Matthew.

I modelled this in a spreadsheet beginning with G-D the Father of Abraham as this is the method used by Luke in his record of the line of Jesus via Mary in saying, "Adam, the son of God." (Luke 3:38 NKJV) Each generation is assigned a number with the root generation being zero (0) and belonging to G-D. The first son would be Abraham (father of many being spiritual Israel) who is generation one (1).

The model reveals a 42-generation span from G-D to the Church. (Topics covered elsewhere in this site) This requires we understand the distinction between "Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ" and Christ who is the Father of the Church.

Find a copy of my spreadsheet here,

    http://www.firstflightmedia.com/Rich/Line-of-Joseph.xls

    The columns are as follows:

Column A - Day of week reference beginning with first day of the week (Sunday)
    Column B - Father
    Column C - Son
Column D - Generational counter beginning with "0" for Father G-D
Column E - Generational counter beginning with "1" for human son
Column F/G-14-Generational counter as given in (Matthew 1:17 NKJV)
Column H - Scriptural reference for each generation

**NOTE: Column A is for reference ONLY. In no way is it meant to suggest a day of the week that each generation was born. It is used as an arithmetic reference to keep sync with sevens that occur in the generations. Sunday was used as the starting point as it is the Biblical first day of the week. (Saturday is the Sabbath day of rest thus not used as the beginning of G-D's creation of Abraham in this model).

According to this model, generation 39 (Jacob) fathered generation 40 (Joseph), who fathered Generation 41 (Jesus) who as Christ Fathered the Church (Us) as the 42nd generation, the conception of which we see on the first Pentecost and corporate birth yet to happen at the Rapture. This is the birth we are waiting for as signalled in the Great Sign given on 23-September (Revelation 12:1-2 ESV) and recorded in (Revelation 12:5 ESV).

I offer the model as a potential reference, not the gospel. It was created for my personal study and shared here if of value to any of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Glory to G-D in the highest!

    Grace and peace to you,

    Pastor Rich

  53. Could the Hebrew Calendar be off by 1 month? According to their Agricultural laws, in which God divinely sent Rains exactly when they were suppose to, and matured the Barley Harvest exactly when they were suppose to be, in time for their FirstFruits (Aviv).. 2016 was perfect for their Calendar, but this year, its anything but... And Rains coming along the Wrong times (see 1 Sam 12:17 - its a curse to have Rains at the Harvest), and Barley not ripe for at least the Firstfruits, indicate the Harvest at the timing prescribed by Hebrew Calendar, as is, will not be acceptable. We have a Solid Report from one in Israel that indicates the Hebrew Calendar is off by one month. And God's Calendar is set by His Timing, His Rains, His Weather ...

"They stumbled on that stone of offense the barley represents, which is our Messiah. I know, I know: That’s a strong statement. But by refusing to recognize the barley as the primary sign, really the only sign to qualify the beginning of the year, simply because it didn’t appear in within a twelve-moon window, they stumbled and have left the path of truth. That clause demanding only twelve moons is simply not included in our instructions."

1 month off according to God's timing of the Rains and Firstfruits harvest - means Feast of Trumpet is Oct 21st of this Year, despite all the Hebrew Calendars being off... Not setting a date, but watching because this year there is an incredible amount of Compelling Evidences this year could be the year..

Full Report of Barley (Aviv) PDF Article:
    https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/e51d9f_ec44f0e078774d53833b2a5c97bac6c9.pdf

(By the way, the Book of Jubilees 6:36-37 - authoritative in Ethiopian Orthodox and 15 Scrolls found in Dead Sea Scrolls says this:
"For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon -how (it) disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon.
For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb (the order), and make an abominable (day) the day of testimony, and an unclean day a feast day, and they will confound all the days, the holy with the unclean, and the unclean day with the holy; for they will go wrong as to the months and sabbaths and feasts and jubilees." )
--- God already knew Israel nationally would go wrong, and observe Feast Days on the wrong months (going by Mathmatical calculations rather than following Christ - represented by the Barley, and being Ripe by Firstfruits), otherwise why have this written down.. We know that it is this exact month that would affect the timings of the Months. And no one seems to be Waiting on the Real Feast of Trumpets Oct 20-21st.....

    Anyway, my thoughts... Thank you.

AND, it is also along the same consistent lines that the Lord, not being the author of confusion, would identify this and rebuke them for it and that the Gentile Church would get it correct, adding to the humiliation of the Jews for their error and to their jealousy of the Gentiles for being closer to their Messiah than they were! 58. Had a thought .... In the verses about those taken it says in Luke (on that night) that one of two will be taken from bed. Later and in Mathew 24 it speaks of 2 in the field or two in the threshing room and 1 taken. Tonight is what is called a Harvest Moon (full moon). Reason is that the full moon allowed people to work at night gathering the fall harvest. So .... makes sense that some may be sleeping and some in the field working at night if the rapture were to be on a Harvest Moon.

Just a thought. I'm kinda in the 8th day boat in terms of "hope" right now. After that is is simply a "sometime between now and November 19th". After that its "sometime between now and March 26th of 2018." After that .... I have no clue whatsoever!!

I was not going to post this because I know a lot of people don't put much stock in dreams, so just take this for what it's worth... I had a dream yesterday, in my dream I was standing at one end of a long narrow table with 3 or 4 others standing close around me. on the table was what looked like a small parchment (I don't remember what was written on it) but I remember it was important. The only words I remember being spoken was, "21 days" and it was repeated to me several times to the point when I woke up I could still hear them saying "21 days".

This got me thinking, is the rapture in 21 days for now? what does 21 days mean? so I looked in stellarium and started at sept 23rd and counted 21 days. and it looks to me, that is the day Jupiter completely crosses the line out of Virgo (I know there are no lines in space but you get my meaning) does this mean anything? I have no idea. but I thought I would just put it out there.

I do know we are going home very soon and I grow more and more home sick everyday.

  61. You have put your heart & soul into this rich article, Gary...wow. What a resource. I've read it twice and plan to go through it again.

Your point about the conception being Dec. 23, 2016 also lines up with the "conception comet" we talked about earlier this year. From his YouTube: "This comet LEAVES Virgo (at her foot on the 23rd of December 2016) exactly 9 months before Jupiter's birth...coincidence, I think not!" With Dec. 23, 2016 being 42 weeks from Oct. 13, this comet still fits into the picture.

Another interesting point I heard from Sandy Armstrong's latest video about the transfiguration on Tabernacles: Jesus appeared with Moses (who had died but was alive) and Elijah (who had never died). In other words, He was transfigured during the feast of Tabernacles with a type of "dead in Christ rise first" and a type of "we who are alive and remain."

I continue to be so full of joy that WE were appointed to be those who watch and see the Lord fulfill all He has promised!

  65. I had a more comprehensive response to the main article, but I'm not sure it would survive long so I'll settle for this...

Gary, one of the biggest red flags I see here is your insistence that "God wants us to know" the time of the Rapture. That view is not supported by Scripture. At 10:53 AM on 10/5/17 you asked:

"How can you just set aside Matt. 24:48-51, Lk. 12, 1 Thess. 5:4, Heb. 10:25, Rev. 1:1, 3:3, etc?"

Here's how: When Matt. 24:48-51, Lk. 12 are read in context it is plain that they are no more relevant to the time of the Rapture than is Matt. 24:36.

As for the rest: 1 Thess. 5:4 is not a warning to the Church to "know the hour". "That day" refers to "the day of the Lord" (vs. 2), not to the Rapture. Paul says that "that day" (of judgment) would not overtake believers, and the reason is simple; believers won't be around to experience "that day". They will have been caught up before it arrives.

In Hebrews 10:25, "see[ing] the day draw near" has nothing to do with knowing when the Rapture will happen, but with the simple fact that each passing day makes the Rapture one day closer. Reading that verse as "proof" that we can know the day of the Rapture is classic eisegesis.

Likewise, Rev 3:3 has nothing to do with the Rapture OR the day of the Lord. It is the same warning given the Church of Ephesus in Rev. 2:5; a warning that the Lord would "come upon" them and remove their lampstand if they didn't change their minds. The Lord does not "come upon" the Church at the Rapture, He catches up the Church to be with Him.

Your other references from the main article, Deut. 4:29, Prov. 25:2, Jer. 29:13, Matt. 7:7 refer to seeking the LORD, not to deciphering the date of the Rapture.

    Then you said;

"Imminency can be taken to such an extreme that people start predicting in reverse: "nope, He can't come on 9/23", "definitely can't come on 9/30", "I know He won't come on 10/13". That's a dangerous game."

You've raised a "straw man" of your own here. Imminence is not something that can be taken to extremes; it isn't a matter of degree. You either accept it or you reject it. If someone excludes a future day for any reason, they have *abandoned* imminence entirely just as much as if they had predicted a specific day for the Rapture TO happen. By the same token, predicting any day to be "more likely" than any other day *also* precludes imminence. It's saying, "The Lord might delay His coming to a more likely day."

Now, you did make me "LOL out loud" with this statement from the main article:

"Let me be clear: I believe that when the day truly comes there will be those watching who will know."

So, we WILL KNOW WHEN the Rapture happens WHEN the Rapture actually... happens.

    Huh, hooda-thunkit?

    1. I agree with Chuck F., especially in reference to Hebrews 10:25 verse.
I don't think a person can know when the rapture will happen when it happens, however this was said. Doesn't the rapture take place in the twinkling of an eye? We will know when we are in the presence of Jesus seems more accurate.
I think the continuous movement along the continuum of this or that date as to the rapture happening is date-setting, no matter the statements to do with insinuations or suggestions or whatever has been said. I surly am not seeing this as loving His appearance and therefore obeying God's commands, walking in a manner worthy of His name. All of this seems like looking at signs and not seeing Him.

    2. I completely agree with Chuck F. Mt 24 and 25 are talking about the Tribulation and the events that happen after it. The Rapture wasn't revealed until the days of the apostle Paul. The disciples didn't know about it and Christ never told them about it.

The signs in Mt 24 to watch for? All of those are events that happen in the early part of the Tribulation. If you compare them to what happens in Rev 6 you will find an exact match.

When Paul told us about the Rapture he never said it would happen on a feast day. All we know is that the trumpet of God will sound. The idea that this trumpet must be connected to a festival, because festivals also have trumpets, is something man added to the text. Paul never made that claim.

Jesus gave people signs to watch for, which all happen during the Tribulation, and told them to watch for His return at the end of the Tribulation. Jesus never mentioned the Rapture or told anyone to watch for it. In order to watch for it we would need signs, and there are no signs. The only hope for a sign was Rev 12, and that is now behind us.

I love the rapture and would love for it to happen today. I'll close with this: I John 2:28 says if we abide in Him we won't be ashamed at His coming. It doesn't say we will know when that coming will be.

    3. I agree with you guys (Jonathan, Anom, & Chuck F.) on the Mathew 24, 25 being so taken out of context. It's all about the tribulation time.

On whether or not to know about the time of the rapture? Well I'm a doctrine of imminence type of guy...... but I also can't ignore the facts as they are presented.

If the Rev 12 sign in the sky was just a coincidence, I could maybe live with not getting any more excited about the imminent return then any other year.

However, there is absolutely NO random chance that the all of the evidences lined up in the last few years the way they just did.

The dates that involve the Jews (12/23/16 UN vote, Julys taking back the Temple Mount), the tetrads and events from past history that effect the Jews, the last generation time frame aligning with these events. Heck the roof on the church built on Christ's crucifixion spot collapsed on the 23rd I believe. Plus many many many other things. This list does not seem to end, at all.

At some point the numbers just swallow coincidence and surpass probability to such an extent that things are simply screaming "Its here, He is coming NOW!!!"

So yes I'm with you guys. I'm a calculating conservative guy that if I'm to be sold on a point of view , well good luck. I will listen and I will do my absolute best to be discerning. But these events are just ramping up too much. I want to stick to my doctrine of belief as much as anyone but God has my attention, and it's not by any of mans doing.

So I don't expect to know the day either. I believe Christ now does know. The church is gone before Mathew 24 ever starts to happen. And I would not in the least be surprised however if the day is revealed because honestly there is too much stuff going on in such a wonderful way to simply ignore. And if it's not revealed? Well I'm enjoying the ride and anticipation in wonder of His taking us.

Gary you ain't perfect, neither are we but keep on keeping on brother. I won't pretend to know the Lords plan for this and I can't expect anyone else either. But don't stop. We are here and He's at the door. We need every BODY available looking for whatever the Lord lays before us to find. Is it a date? Who knows. But it is definitely confirmation of the times.

To Jonathan, Anom, Chuck excellent courage for expressing your corrections on members of the body. Praise to all you guys and keep seeking Christ first, and edifying one another thru love and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

      Peace brothers and sisters.

  68. Revelation 3:3 does not seem to be a warning to know the hour. But rather, it seems to be a warning to be awake, spiritually speaking. Why is there no mention of Luke 12:39-40? Verse 40 itself is self explanatory -- be ready at all times. Why? Because He comes unexpectedly. Verse 39 says, IF the homeowner knew when, he would have been ready. But who can know when a burglary will happen? Answer: NO ONE, otherwise they would prevent it. Therefore... verse 40, be ready at all times. Why? Again, he comes unexpectedly, without warning. Look at Luke 12:37-38. It's the servants who are ready and waiting for his return who are rewarded, not those who have some special revealed knowledge of the day/hour.

Matthew 24:37-51 is a related passage. When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. Well, what was it like in Noah's day? Jesus tells us in the very next verse... "the people were enjoying banquets, parties, and weddings RIGHT UP TO THE TIME Noah entered the ark. People didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away."

In other words, it was business as usual on the earth. Banquets, parties, and weddings. Then, swift, sudden, and unexpected judgment. This is further evidenced by Matthew 24:40-41. We have two examples here of people going about their daily business, two men working in a field and two women grinding flour. One is taken, another is not. There's no indication they knew this would happen. In fact, the context implies the contrary.

It's interesting to me that the argument is made that "we will know", yet there's open refusal to set a date. At the beginning of one paragraph, you say "God wants us to know" and several sentences later, you recede with "no one knows with certainty the day or hour". Which is it? You can't have it both ways.

None of the passages indicate that God wants us to know. The imperative is always to be ready, not to know the timing. The reason it won't surprise us (catch us off guard/unprepared), the reason we are not in darkness, the reason we won't be overcome is because we are in the Lord Jesus Christ, the ark. It has nothing to do with knowing the exact day and hour.

We won't know. If you go back to the passages, it's clear. Business as usual on the earth. People are going about their daily chores, work, activity, and attending events. Again, the passage in Matthew 24 illustrate this point. No one knows. If they had known, they would have been ready. So the ultimate takeaway is not to obsess over self-perceived signs and superimpose prophecy on world events to make interpretations as to the exact or near timing which leads to discouragement, disappointment, and potential wound to our witness... but to be ready, to be in the Ark, Jesus Christ, and to be doing His good work all the while waiting and longing.

I say this in love, not to scoff, mock, ridicule, or condemn.

Let's as faithful servants be about our master's business until He returns.

    1. So it seems our current understanding is like this.
Revelations 12:1-2 describes an event that happened in the heavens on Sep 23/24 of 2017.

It is described as a "mega" sign and is the only "mega" sign in the Bible.

It is left to us to figure out why it is called a "mega" sign.

WE have speculated many reasons that it is called this. These speculations include
      1.actual rapture date,
2.a pay attention to what happens in the world date,
      3. a date that would help Christians find their way back to Him,
      4. a date to mark the beginning of stuff getting really crazy,
      5. or something we haven't noticed/seen date

clearly we weren't right about speculation 1. but that helped sift out the chaff possibly.

what else do we know for sure?

No matter what we know or don't know yet, I'll echo your words, "let's as faithful servants be about our master's business until He returns".

Keep watching my brothers and sisters. You are helping so many. I love you all.

  69. If one looks at the world events as they are right now, we have several potential hair triggers to set off WW3.

I sincerely believe the USA can, and will be taken down , so as to cause world economic collapse and advancement of the one world government, bringing in the antichrist.

Here we have what looks like an inevitable war with North Korea. I have no doubt we will stomp that bug, but he will hit back hard. If North Korea doesn't get an EMP detonated to take out our power grid, or nuke some of our cities, other countries such as Russia or China just might do the dirty work.

I read that we have about 2 weeks supply of cruise missiles before we run out. This happened in just 10 days during Desert storm.

Just imagine the brilliant tactical mind of Putin ready to strike us as we are depleting our cruise missiles on North Korea.

Then there is Israel about to engage Iran. Russia has massed troops on the borders of eastern Europe.

This all looks like the stage being set for WW3. Most here think we will be raptured out of this, and it would be nice if that worked out that way. But soon this world will be engaged in WW3...and "if" we are here, how prepared spiritually are we to accept this and how prepared are we to handle this?

    1. Stan, excellent closing question. The conflict brewing within the Family, since the Rev12 awakening, has held up a mirror in front of all of us as well as creating an open display of the fruits of each of our ministries. As we await our Tarrying Lord it seems quite possible that this 'sifting' dynamic now happening could be our Lord's spoon, stirring the pot, and forcing each of us to look that question in the face, and ponder what we REALLY believe about our Lord, who He is, His coming, our lives now, where our heart is and upon which Rock do we truly stand? As the tarrying lingers on, our foundations will be tested and this sifting, now, may serve us well as we plumb the depths of our individual faith in the days immediately ahead. Maranatha!

    2. I agree Stan.

Me thinks the US will be tangled with the useful idiot (N.Korea) while Russia/ China move in to jointly strike/ invade the USA.

While we are entangled with the useful idiot, Iran and its brothers move on Israel (Ezekiel 38-39).

All speculation and just think, this is just the geopolitical/ military aspect intertwined with ALL the other signs around us.

Just think how depleted the US armed forces will be when the rapture does happen... leaving US assets and the US homeland vulnerable. Who will be left to launch the missiles, fly the planes etc...

This last hurricane, Nathan, made me think of Nathan in 2 Samuel 12. The Lord sent Nathan to rebuke King David and to warn of upcoming events. Specifically alarming was the first part of verse 11 from 2 Samuel 12: This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you...'

  70. StanFoster, I was just wondering have you ever read Pastor R A Coombes book "America the Babylon" or listened to his presentation given at the Prophecy Club in 1998 on you-tube. He has written what many consider to be the classic in this area of scripture. It cost him friends, finances and family. I exchanged a few e-mails with him before the Lord took him home. With that said over the last few months my thoughts have been on the comparison between Nineveh and their solar eclipse, and the solar eclipse over America. The "40" day count from Aug 21st to Sept 30th starting on Elul 1 and ending on Yom Kippur is thought provoking, but over the last week things have become clearer to a certain degree. You might be aware of all this, but perhaps others aren't? On Yom Kippur the Lord issues His coming decrees, but between Yom Kippur and the last day of Sukkot, there is a grace period given where the final sealing of the Judgments doesn't happen until Hoshanna Rabbah, which is called the Great Salvation. This being the last day of the Feast, the Judgments are sealed, then at sundown the day moves to Shmini Atzeret, which is a day of Assembly. Some have compared this day to Pentecost. It would be from my perspective a good day for the Catching Away of the Body of Christ? I have been telling my 24 yr old daughter for over 20 years that on some given fall during these Feasts America will be destroyed in a surprise attack..I believe soon the Lord will open His arsenal in Heaven and America will be destroyed in "One Hour's Time" great riches come to absolutely nothing. Many of the references come from Jeremiah 50-51, Revelation 17-18..portions of Isaiah 13-18 and Isaiah 47...the Hammer of the earth is broken asunder, by my understanding that is an idiom for the Policeman of the world that is destroyed...I apologize for being long winded, but the pieces seem to fit, when we read what you wrote, and the meaning of these Days!!! 71. Hi all, I was sent a link to this site/forum for the first time tonight and found this fascinating. The friend who sent me the link also told me about the possibility of the 23 of September rapture months ago. I shared this with my pastor and she says that she doesn't really believe that the rapture is going to happen. When ever she or her husband preach, it is scripture based and in line with God's word. So her comment really surprised me. So I'm wondering if there is a link to a list of scriptures which mention the rapture.

I hope that this comment/question is not considered inappropriate or scoffing. If this is not the right place for this question please can you guide me to the correct place to ask it. Thank you in advance.

    1. Almost everyone agrees that the Rapture is revealed in plain, everyday language in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18. Many think it is also referred to in Revelation 4, Revelation 12, and perhaps Matthew 24.

    2. Hello, Shelz and welcome!

You came to the right place to ask, share and discuss scripture and prophecy. We may not all agree in this space, but that's the beauty of it. We don't all agree on all things and thus stand to learn something along the way.

I am a pastor who does teach the pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church and is watchfully waiting on the Lord. There are many pin-points in Scripture that are difficult for teachers to teach. Some of them are what some of my friends would call, "Stranger than fiction".

I for one find great comfort in G-D's word and teaching it. (Hebrews 10:23-25 ESV) is especially poignant to me these days as I truly believe that our time in this place is very, very short.

I hope you find inspiration and comfort in these pages to share the name of Jesus with those you meet. May you be challenged to seek answers for yourself through prayer and study of the word yourself.

      Grace and peace to you!

  75. I have heard for way too many times about "no man knows the day or the hour". So many times, in fact, that they almost would have me convinced, if I didn't remember that Jesus was NOT talking about the rapture. The guys that He was speaking to had no concept of any rapture or even of the age of grace church. All of that was not revealed by God until He revealed those 2 mysteries to Paul, years later. Context when reading the Bible is certainly a great comfort to us. Maranatha, everyone and thank you very much, Gary, for sharing this informative and encouraging article.

  76. Hey mr gary. You are the one who are ignorant of scriptures. Claiming Yahusha is GOd.John, Yahusha, Samson, Isaac born miraculous births and we do not call them Godheads.

Both John the Baptist and Yahusha the Messiah were born almost identical miraculous births as a "sign" of their unique and important anointing in YHVH's Plan of Salvation. Much like others who were very important in that Plan of Salvation such as Isaac. The miraculous birth of John the Baptist is recounted in Luke’s Gospel where we learn of the elderly priest Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth who was barren.

Like Yahseph (Joseph) and Miriam (Mary) it was very unlikely any sexual relations occurred between Zechariah and Elizabeth. Because they both were very old, Elizabeth was barren, and Zechariah “doubted” the whole thing to begin with! Just like Abraham and Sarah, identical. Not to mention he served as Priest in the Temple at that time. In each of these cases (Yahusha, John, Isaac, among others such as Sampson) YHVH used the seed of both parents to heal either dead wombs or make fertile a virgin womb. Make no mistake, YHVH is Spirit and has no physical seed:

and we all including Yahusha are begotten into His Family upon resurrection. A miracle birth does not make Yahusha a god or "YHVH incarnate" anymore than it did Isaac, Sampson, or John. YHVH would never violate His own "order" by creating a child outside of the seeds of a man and woman. Maybe that is why Yahusha is called "the son of man" 87 times because he was truly the Yahusha ben Yahseph (Yahusha the son of Yahseph). Yahusha clearly explained his claim as Yahusha ben Yahuah by tracing his lineage back to Adam ben Yahuah.

Back to John; while Zechariah was performing his priestly duties in the temple, the angel Gabriel came to him and prophesied the birth of a son. Because Zechariah doubted the word of the angel, he was struck dumb until the day of the birth, at which time, filled with the Holy Spirit, he proclaimed his prophetic canticle (Luke 1:68-79).

77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins (which as part of preparing Yahusha or mentoring him this is what he was to teach the young Messiah and his followers. A doctrine that Yahusha then taught his followers),

Here we see clearly that John’s father Zechariah knew his son was not The Messiah, but the prophesied one called Elijah (which too is a title meaning Strength of Yahuah) that would come beforehand to prepare as High Priest the way of The Messiah. It is most certain that Zechariah the Priest taught his son Prince John (heir to Yahusha III) exactly what his role would be. John was to properly prepare the people and teach them (including young Yahusha) of salvation and forgiveness of sin and then anoint The Messiah as Eternal High Priest in succession to him. Preparing the way (mentoring Yahusha) and then through Mikveh “setting his path straight”.

I want to point out one very important truth. His mother Elisabeth was barren. Zechariah was serving in The Temple. They were both VERY old at this time. They probably stopped having sex a long time ago. Zachariah wasn't buying any of it anyway... They probably DID NOT have sex to produce John. Even if they did, Elizabeth was barren and couldn’t have children. Yet, the seed of Zechariah was “placed in the womb and the womb healed” in miraculous fashion to produce John. Just because John was born a miraculous birth almost identical to Yahusha. In John's case an Angel of YHVH prophesied his birth and gave a child to a barren womb using the father’s seed... in Yahusha's case an Angel of YHVH prophesied the birth and gave a child to a virgin womb using the father’s seed.

John's miraculous birth did NOT make John the Baptist part of the "GODHEAD" nor did it make YHVH a pagan Trinity. We do not worship John as equal to YHWH, YHVH in the flesh, or in any way does it make YHVH a polytheistic deity in fashion of pagan gods
