If it were only up to Him, everybody would get saved and Hell (and later on the Lake of Fire) would be empty. But it is not so, and it’s NOT because the Lord created some people for Hell and send them there (which is a dangerous and unbiblical teaching imo), they are there because of their own choice. There’s the element of our own choice to accept His offer and (indeed!) gift of salvation. The Lord respects our choices: who wants to spend eternity with Him and who doesn’t want to spend eternity with Him and He grants them both. Yes, He foreknew who will accept His finished, perfect work on the cross on their behalf, He knew everything and every one of us before the creation of the world and it is constantly Him who helped us and helps us all along, we can do nothing without Him. But it needs to be added that He draws every single person ever created, otherwise we couldn’t come to Him but not everybody responds to the drawing. And He helps the saved with His Holy Spirit working His will in their hearts but still, we aren’t robots, we can go against the Holy Spirit’s advices and consult. We aren’t His “West World”! Of course our salvation is secure in His hands, we are eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ I firmly believe that!Norahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14713473992151283154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-22561120306168328362018-05-27T03:07:04.553-05:002018-05-27T03:07:04.553-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Norahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14713473992151283154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-84515939038782023592018-05-27T03:06:25.627-05:002018-05-27T03:06:25.627-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Norahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14713473992151283154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-38865759304690801042018-05-24T02:21:53.099-05:002018-05-24T02:21:53.099-05:00The minimum requirement for salvation is named in ...The minimum requirement for salvation is named in John 3:3 and John 3:7 and you can NOT "do" anything about it on your own. The result of salvation is stated in John 1:13 same thing. There are no "requirements" for God that man could exercise to be saved. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:36-40 ESV)

"So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12 ESV)

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)

...and finally...

"This is my commandment, that you love on another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 ESV)

There you have it in RED LETTERS. For my money the core of everything we are called to do by Christ Himself. The Greatest Commandment, Golden Rule and Christ's Command can be done in "secret" where only the Father knows. I would venture to say that even in a persecuted land you could get away with that.

The Great Commission requires a church and that can start with just one. Living that can be dangerous in some places. I know of those who have lost their life in this place and gained everlasting life living out that command.

These are the most basic essentials and call for a depth of faith, hope and love that is immeasurable.

Essentials are important as they define our mission and form our vision as individuals and a church. They keep us on target and help us evaluate how we are doing in regards to staying on target.

And yes, all of the above should be lived with the utmost humility, obedience and joy.

Blessings,

PRPastor Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09311564658668497654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-31536296949047096552018-05-23T20:09:11.955-05:002018-05-23T20:09:11.955-05:00I have found it amazing in my walk at how often pe...I have found it amazing in my walk at how often people want to discuss what is the minimum requirement for salvation. I see a person baptised after confessing faith in Christ as a public acknowledgement of that faith. It is not done to be saved. Tho, I have been in churches that believe a person must be baptised, I don't see it as necessary. Blessings to you. I am not saved by my works, nor am I saved by my knowledge.

Many churches I go to, especially where I grew up, love when you visit. Partially because they desire my salvation, but partially i think (at least some of the time), because my visitation provides their affirmation and assurance.

Of course my anything assured them of nothing on this topic.

The order of worship (in my case 3 songs and a prayer) and acapella instead of instrumental + no dancing + no drinking + no cursing + .... + BAPTISM = maybe salvation.

Paul wrote "these things are written so that you may know..." knowing is not maybe and I desire this assurance for you and your dad.

We are not saved whether or not we understand God's will fully.

I dont at all want to undermine baptism. It is the first command and people customarily go to it done now. Why wouldn't you? If you have come to believe the right response is overwhelming joyful gratitude. This state of the heart doesnt sit, but goes where called instantly.

Christ came declare truth. Truth is: God is good. Truth is apart from Christ there is no way anyone could ever approach the one bad holy God. The only right response to a love and sacrifice like this is repentance, worship, submission and joy.

When this is the state of your heart you are most assuredly his.

For many who have not been obedient in this most basic command, you have to wonder about the rest.

If love doesnt move someone to obedience, then do they have James 2:19 (event the demons believe...) intellectual ascent or do you have faith?

I am commanded to worship at all times, but I have not.
I am commanded to renew my mind continually, but I have not.
I am commanded to go and make disciples, but i have not
I am commanded to live those in prison, the widow and the orphan but i have left much undone.
I am commanded not to murder, but i have killed billions in my heart.
I am commanded not to commit adultery, but I have slept with thousands in my heart.

We can't elevate one command over another.

Our job is simply to believe. He does everything else.

God loves worship not because He is lonely, needy or narcissistic, but because it is the right sound from a heart that is in the right place. For Him to share Himself should generate much praise.

Well I'll shutdown the sermon here as my thumbs are shot and its time to get on the road.

Blessings and prayers.
GregNot Worth Comparinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16222269432795057835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-88348021292236884412018-05-23T00:30:35.890-05:002018-05-23T00:30:35.890-05:00Dear Unknown,

God had a lot of ministry to do, I had to give up my former work etc and we have no car to just drive around for hours looking for a sound church nearby. We had other challenges at that time we were saved. But I never couldn't imagine being baptized by some bigot in front of a bunch of hypocrites just to fulfill a rite or ceremony. As Richard mentioned, water baptism isn't a salvation issue. I'm not baptized in water either but in the Holy Spirit. That's all that counts before God. 1 Corinthians 12:13 / 1 Corinthians 1:13-16 I have testified my love for Christ before the world as I could not do it openly in a ceremony before the church (as at my place in Germany, there's only the counterfeit one or blank atheism around). I accept it the way it is but after 13 years of daily Christian life and many hardships before and miracles from God it doesn't really bother me if I'm dipped in some water in front of a congregation. Again, it is not a salvation issue and we are living in the endtimes. Many don't find a sound local church anymore to be baptized properly. It's like not to have celebrated a glorious church wedding but only contracting the civil marriage: the latter is the one that counts, not the big ceremony in church. There will be more true believers than you think not baptized in water arriving in Heaven safely. Much love to you!Annabelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04642374040696665532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-39791864890980352972018-05-22T18:12:02.679-05:002018-05-22T18:12:02.679-05:00Hello Pastor Rich. I will risk going out on a limb here as...Matthew,

I will risk going out on a limb here as some churches will say that you must be baptised to be saved. I am convicted of faith and convinced that as much as we are called upon to be baptised, we are not saved by baptism.

Our Salvation is of Christ and by His blood. Only the LORD knows our heart. If in your father's heart he KNOWS what we are given in (Romans 10:9-10) and has confessed that before G-D, then he has done what must be done. That is the inward baptism of a confession of faith.

The outward confession of faith is baptism. Some churches may require being baptised within their congregation for membership within that church. Some within the Christian community claim that a believer's faith (or lack of) can make or impede their salvation when baptised. I do not agree with that position.

I say that Salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit and of G-D in Christ. It is not a product of our work(s). How long was it before Jesus was baptised? He was nearly TWICE your age! For Jesus it was, "fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." (Matthew 3:15 ESV) -- thus He was baptised.

So should it be for us too!

Baptism is an outward expression of the JOY within. Baptism is a sign of obedience. Baptism is a symbol of the circumcision of our heart. The cutting away of death in Adam and being raised to everlasting life with Christ. Baptism is so many things that I cannot recommend enough, how soon you should be baptised after coming to faith!

Why?

16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;

17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

If our Father said that of our Lord and Brother Jesus, how much will He also say of us when we are baptised?!

Pray about it. See what our Father has to say and spend time in the word with your Dad and ask him if he's thought about getting baptised?

The most important thing is that we fully and completely, with everything that we are, accept Christ for who He is and what He has done and confess that with all that we are before G-D. You don't have to recite a specific prayer, it just has to come from the heart.

You have all my hopes and prayers,

Pastor Rich
Pastor Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09311564658668497654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923571518579487836.post-26531946758645510812018-05-22T16:13:53.248-05:002018-05-22T16:13:53.248-05:00Hello. I’m just going to pray for those that are left behind, that they will read the Bible and this website and that they will come to Jesus and be saved. Also, I’m concerned about my dad because he believes in the Lord, but he has not been baptized in water. I am not sure if he will be raptured because he hasn’t been baptized to cleanse his sins. I’m pretty sure that, if he were left behind, that he would come to the Lord because of me, my mom, the people on my mom’s side of the family, and my Grandma and Grandpa, being gone. We’ve got a lot of Christians in my family, so I’m just hoping that when the Antichrist comes, that Dad will remember me and the rest of the family, and remember our faith, so that he will come to Jesus and be saved. I was just concerned. God bless you all!
