We call Him Lord and Savior

Perfection, beauty, purpose, color, harmony, intimacy, love, balance, provision, nirvana, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and control.  Intimate, boundless, unending, ageless love.  Ecstasy.  HOLINESS.

Ancient, unending, eternal.

The unchanging I AM that I AM chose to make a change not in Himself, but in creating another expression of His love.

The one who is perfect, loving and good chose to give the greatest gift that can be given.

Himself

He is not lonely.  He is not needy.  He is not an egotist in need of worship, glory and praise.

Acts 17:24-26 (NASB)
The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,

He is Ancient of Days

Daniel 7:13-14 (NASB)
“I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, with the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.
“And to Him was given dominion,
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations and men of every language
Might serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed.

God is jealous, but not out of His own insecurity or neediness, but because when He is poorly represented by His followers. His reputation is diminished.  His glory is stifled.  His goodness and love do not shine through.  People turn from the love He intends to share:

Ezekiel 39:25 (NASB)
Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name.

God chose to create because He loves.  Love shares.

To see God is to be overwhelmed with gratitude and worship.  It is the only right response.  God chose to share because of His love.  Real love does not share to receive, but real love when received appropriately results in great gratitude and praise, every time.

When we are ungrateful, unrepentant, hostile or oblivious then we are not seeing clearly God’s gift in creation, in sharing Himself.

Acts 7:51-52 (NASB)
“You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did. Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become;

When God is maligned and doubted, it is because we cannot or will not see clearly.  God is not made at those who cannot see, but at those who refuse to see.  Those who should know better, but who are stiff necked and rebellious, for these He has sharp words.

Truth – God is good and all the time God is good.  To doubt, argue, rebel and declare God to be a fraud, or evil or distant or untrustworthy is to say it ain’t so.  It is to call God a liar.  It is blasphemy or at least uninformed.

Now no one gets mad at a child who acts foolishly or speaks of things they know little about.  We smile  at the silliness of their comments.  God loves His children.  He’s not mad at us.  He just wants to give us Himself.  He wants for us to see Him as He is.  Good and Loving and Trustworthy and Beautiful and rest in Him.

However He is no rapist.  He pursues.  He cajoles.  He pursues.  He is relentless in His pursuit of us, but this beautiful courtship is a dance and if we will not entertain His advances, He will not force Himself on us.
This refusal to acknowledge Him is Lord, after He the Holy Spirit pursues us, brings grief to Him.  This is refusal is unpardonable.

Luke 12:10 (NASB)
And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him.
Hebrews 9:27 (NASB)
And in as much as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
Romans 1:20-22 (NASB)
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools,
At some point the choice is made, death comes and the door closes.

The beauty of creation is in His sharing of Himself.  The stunning part is that He knew the rebellion that would follow.

Isaiah 46:10 (NASB)
Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, ‘My purpose will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;

He weighed all of the ridicule, accusation and anger, and then considered the pain, murder, torture, rape, starvation, disease, orphans, widows, prisoners and chose for the opportunity to share Himself with those who would follow for eternity to speak all of it into existence and so in Genesis 1, we have the famous words:

Let there be….and there was…

Often it is said, if God is all powerful and good why is there such terrible pain in the world.

2 Peter 3:9 (NASB)
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

God created, because He loves.  Love shares.  God’s Omniscience allowed Him to know in advance what would happen, yet He chose for the sake of eternal perfection and joy for those who would follow to create.
God’s mercy and patience allowed Him to delay His judgment.  The mistake many make, is to say because God hasn’t judged that He won’t.  He will.  He certainly will.

2 Peter 3:3-7 (NASB)
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

And then most stunning of all, He paid the highest price for our redemption.

Romans 5:8 (NASB)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Philippians 2:1-11 (NASB)
Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Who loves like that?  Who never quits?  Who chooses their own torture and destruction?  Whose love is unrelenting, perfect and steadfast like that?

Only One.

We call Him Savior.

To see clearly our depravity along side His HOLY GOODNESS, is to worship.  If worship is not pouring out of you, either you cannot or will not see.  You are looking elsewhere or not looking at all.

Deuteronomy 4:29 (NASB)
But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.
Of course here at Unsealed.org we believe the time available for repentance is in it's last seconds.

Isaiah 55:6 (NASB)
Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
