"Dead Cat Bounce"
Today, dozens of articles were written, and dozens and dozens of reporters gleefully proclaimed a "rally" this morning as supposed evidence we merely had a "correction" and that now everything would start going back up worldwide.
Well the market just closed and not only did the "rally" evaporate, but the Dow crashed... down 204 points to end at 15,666.44. Another 1.3% of the U.S. market wiped out on a day that was supposed to be a rally.
The new term I learned is "Dead Cat Bounce".
...So I'll ask you again the question I've been asking all week: is your treasure in Heaven or on earth? Have you invested where it counts?
Take a look at this 5-year expanse of the Dow. Looks like the U.S. markets have just gone off the cliff into the abyss:
