  1. LIKEWISE PERISH by steve finnell

Is repentance a requirement or just a suggestion?

Luke 13:1-5....but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."(NKJV)

Luke 24:47 "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.(NKJV)

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(NKJV)

Acts 2:38 And Peter replied, "Each one of you must turn from sin, return to God....(The Living Bible-Paraphrased)

Can Christians continue in an unrepentant sinful lifestyle and not perish.

Matthew 6:15 "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.(NKJV)

If men do not repent of not forgiving others, will they likewise perish?

If a professional killer becomes a Christian and fails to repent of killing people for hire, will he likewise perish?

If drunkards fail to repent, will they likewise perish?

If homosexuals fail to repent, will they likewise perish?

Is adulterers fail to repent, will they likewise perish?

If idolaters fail to repent, will they likewise perish?

If thieves fail to repent, will they likewise perish?

1 Corinthians 6:8-11....9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God..............

  2. Israel is the hour hand. Jerusalem the minute hand. The Temple Mount the 2nd hand.

  3. That is why OSAS (once saved always saved) is a false doctrine.
If a believer does not go through the narrow gate (living a holy life in Christ) and take his/her cross on a daily basis (denying his/her own sinful nature) all the way until the finish line, he/she may not be recognized by the Lord at His coming.

  4. I recommend the book Hand in Hand by Randy Alcorn.

  5. I think Jesus Himself is the narrow gate. No Christian has ever lived a perfectly holy life. We are saved by grace through faith apart from works. Period. However, a faith that saves is a faith that works.

  6. amen gary. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (no other way-no other name by which we are saved). praise God the Narrow Way is JESUS and by faith-believing in Him as the Way, He gives us the Truth to live by, imparting Life to us of His indwelling Holy Spirit, to walk by His power producing good fruit-good works unto His name.
there is only room for One at the top so the human version (self-righteous) "good works" never can compete with Him.

  8. I get the sentiment of this hijacked thread. James 2:19 "even the demons believe and tremble" - belief in, is different than faith in. Many want a savior, but few want a Lord. Many will say to me in that day...depart from me I never knew you. If ever there was a time for an urgent call for repentance, this is it.

Faith, repents and gratitude & obedience yields fruit in time.

Some like the thief on the cross had no time, but are still saved through faith.

All who have faith are being transformed from glory to glory into his image.

If your life has no obedience, transformation, yieldedness, repentence, love or fruit of the Spirit then you have to ask the obvious question.

Yet the fear mongers and works people run into the fears and insecurities to try to eek out a little more effort to garner more security.

No more security can be gathered. It is finished. Bought with a price. Sealed. He will loose none.

  9. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

    Revelation 3:5

According to the above verse, it is clear that a person can be in the book of life, and be blotted out. You have to first be in the book of life before you can be blotted out.
