BREAKING: Israeli Elections Underway

Historic elections are now underway, pitting Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party (center-right) against Benny Gantz and his Blue and White political alliance (center/center-left).  And this is happening just weeks away from the big unveil of the Trump-Kushner "Deal of the Century".  The ramifications could be huge for how Bible prophecy unfolds.  Check back throughout the day for updates.

UPDATES
(Highest are most recent)

9:30 AM CST (4/10): The results are in and Netanyahu appears to have handily won the election, his party picking up 5 seats vs. 2015.  Furthermore both of the conservative religious parties picked up seats, coming in #3 and #4 overall, and demonstrating that while the world is becoming increasingly secular, Israel is becoming more religious.  In 2015 Netanyahu's Likud and their conservative partners garnered only 51 seats, requiring the 10 seats of moderate Kulanu to form a government (61 is the bare majority).  This go around his conservative partners won 56 seats, allowing the incoming conservative coalition to join with either or both of Kulanu or Yisrael Beiteinu (Beiteinu is very conservative, but its party head tends to jockey for power, making coalition deals difficult).  Kulanu has already declared support for Netanyahu, meaning that he now has 60 seats locked and Beiteinu will likely be in tow for 65.  With a number of parties already declared, the center/center-left is maxed out at 55 seats and has no chance of forming a government.

Take Aways:

1. Netanyahu's position is strengthened for a number of reasons: first, because conservatives (minus Beiteinu) won 56 seats (a 5 seat gain over 2015); second, because a difficult coalition partner Naftali Bennett is gone (New Right in the image below), which gives Bibi greater freedom to form the government of his choosing; third, Likud's own 5 seat gain and coming in #1 in total votes, strengthens his political legitimacy as he will soon be dealing with multiple indictments; and fourth, the liberal and Arab parties performed abysmally last night (only 20 seats!).  Of prophetic and historical interest, because of the win Netanyahu will become the longest-serving Prime Minister of Israel in the country's history this summer, beating out the country's founder, David Ben-Gurion.  David was the first to serve, perhaps Bibi will be the last.

2. The Trump-Kushner peace plan unveil moves forward.  This deal has been personally negotiated with Netanyahu, and news is percolating out that Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt are on-board.  What's more, the deal is likely a significant shift from the traditional, 1967-borders two-state solution.  Had Gantz won, all bets would be off, and, at the very least, the deal would have to be postponed for awhile for U.S. officials to meet with and negotiate with Gantz and his team.

3. The results hint that we are going to witness some major changes this year: first of all, the peace deal reveal, of course; second, with both ultra-Orthodox religious parties coming in #3 and #4, you can expect to see some of the top positions in the Israeli government held by Jewish zealots (what might that mean for the status quo on settlements, the Temple Mount, and even a Third Temple?); third, Netanyahu has recently been campaigning on unilateral annexation of certain settled areas of the West Bank—we could very soon be witnessing Israel growing for the first time since it annexed the Golan Heights in 1981.  If that were to happen, and in light of the recent Golan recognition by the U.S., how might Ezekiel 38 players Russia, Iran, and Turkey respond?

10:00 PM CST: Now with 98% of the actual vote in, it looks like all of the exit polls were off and Netanyahu is tracking for 36 seats vs 35 for Gantz.  That's actually a six seat pickup for Likud!  The major religious parties (Shas and UTJ) also picked up seats, coming in 3rd and 4th.  This makes Bibi's path to a coalition nearly certain (if the result holds).  Additionally, moderate Kulanu has announced they will likely align with Likud.  With the demise of the remnants of Jewish Home, which was a recalcitrant member of the conservative coalition, it looks like Bibi's hand may actually be strengthened by the result.  He is announcing that the coalition he is forming will be right wing and no centrist kingmaker needed.  65–67 total seats is a good estimate.  There are three major takeaways from this election in terms of Bible prophecy that I want to share, but I want to wait for the results to settle first.

4:30 PM CST: The picture below is an average of all three exit polls.  Note that exit polls are not actual results, but if this is in the ballpark then it looks like it's Netanyahu with a slight lead: Likud (35) + Shas (7) + United Torah Judaism (7) + United Right (5) + Yisrael Beiteinu (4) = 58 vs a potential Gantz coalition of 55.  That would make centrist Kulanu (4) a potential kingmaker, with three other MKs floating around there somewhere.  This means Gantz would have, at most, 62; and Netanyahu would have 58–65.  Either could be the next Prime Minister and one thing's for sure: this was a close election.

40 minutes until exit polls start coming (10:00 PM Israeli Time).  Get ready!  Check the clock on the right.

  1. What the Lord wills. Praying for Netanyahu myself. We will see.

  2. Praying for Bibi and his party. Nothing will stop Bibi from being reelected if that is what the Lord wants to happen. God puts kings in power and removes them. Forgive me if someone has already done the calculation of days between Sept 23, 2017 and May 14, 2019. It's about 600 days. 600 in Hebrew means "face". Let your imagination run wild with that !

  4. Why all the prayers for Netanyahu? Is it because he’s in bed with Trump? Exactly what is he doing that’s so Godly? I bet if a poll was taken, 99% of people that love Netanyahu loves Trump as well. Under Netanyahu’s leadership, Israel has a skyrocketing abortion rate and the promotion of LGBTQ has increased dramatically. Please remind me again why evangelical Christians love Netanyahu.

    1. I do only pray according to scriptures like to "hasting unto the coming of the day of God" to come eventually, this is 2 Peter 3:12 and like Revelation 22:20 "Even so, come LORD Jesus!" but nothing else. Trump and Netanyahu are godless Zionists who want to set up "their" antichrist dominionist kingdom on earth yet they are fulfilling Gods prophecies but I am not praying for those but unto God to make Jesus come to snatch away His saints soon as they (the politicians) proceed. MARANATHA!

Because they are both the lesser evil of the alternatives offered, which has always been the case in politics. I'm surprised you think there are absolutes in politics

    3. Nony, I admire PM Netanyahu's brilliance as a statesman, military hero and orator. The charges against him are nothing but Russian Collusion Delusion Israeli style. The left wing looney media in the US is nothing compared to the leftist media in Israel. They have no Bill of Rights and witnesses can be jailed and denied medical care. That might just make them tell the attorney general what he wants to hear. Thank God for Trump and Bibi.

Why the numerology and gematria on a site like this?

    1. Nony, do you know that God chose the only two languages that have corresponding numerical values to have His Holy Word written in ? That's called a clue that Numbers have meaning and God uses them constantly in His Holy Word. Check out Strong's Concodance sometime.

    2. I don't know who 'Nony' is.

Yes, numbers (mathematics) make up creation. But 'playing' with numbers like this is what lures people into other paths which are not exactly good. There are no hidden mysteries or voodoo secrets. Justify all you want.

    3. Anon, when you ask a question and then reject an answer, out of hand, it is clear your question was a ruse to attack, petty, and in keeping with the ignorance of fact displayed. When "the hairs on your head are NUMBERED" by the Divine then it is no great leap to see Wisdom lies therein. I encourage you to do so, Maranatha! P.S. 'Nony' is a pet name for Anon, challenging to get that, I suppose.

    4. Splendid rejoinder, Jimboni. I really didn't think Nony was looking for info but just showed up on this website to take jabs at believers. Nony's response proved it as you so eloquently explained. Nony's "voodoo secrets" and "playing with numbers....to lure others" demonstrates a lack of knowledge that I just don't have the inclination to even begin to address. It takes no effort to assign unwarranted devious and impure motives to someone but it does take effort to study so as not to sound utterly foolish. God bless you, Jimboni. I appreciate your thoughtful comments always.

  6. God doesn't choose sides, so neither will I. I'm not "for" Netanyahu or for Gantz. I'm for God and His plan and for whomever, willingly or unwillingly, will make that plan come to fruition faster.

Now, if this election were between a true Messianic Jew and an unbeliever, you'd better believe I'd be supporting the former. But the nation of Israel is still in unbelief and doesn't know its right hand from its left.

  7. I think Netanyahu hangs on, becoming the longest-serving PM in Israeli history. He might have 1-3 less seats than Gantz, but will have an easier path to a coalition. This all based on exit polls.

A big factor could end up being Zehut thought. You know, the guy that wants the Temple Mount immediately given to the Chief Rabbinate to build the 3rd Temple.

    2. I've been hesitant to share my thoughts on the prophetic significance before the results came in, not wanting to be presumptuous, but I think a Bibi win clearly keeps the ball rolling on the peace plan. This plan has been personally negotiated with him by members of the Trump administration. If Gantz won, all bets would be off.

    1. Nan, I too, have heard that President Trump is a believer. He has done more for Christians and Jews, for America and Israel than anyone I can think of and in such short time. Those who condemn Trump and Bibi as "godless Zionists" etc need to read Romans 11 and "boast not against the branches". God bless you.

  16. SPECIAL EDITION | Trump peace plan expected as Israeli election over | Wednesday, April 10th 2019

An interesting discussion on i24news on the election and pending release of the 'peace plan' and what's next in the election.

No better time to invite a friend far from the LORD to church! Easter is right around the corner. Don't just invite them to church, take them out for a meal as well! It's a great way to share day and the gospel!!

    Love courageously,

  18. A GREAT DELUSION?

    The Holographic Universe Explained

    Quoting, PBS Space Time,

"We live in a universe with 3 dimensions of space and one of time. Up, down, left, right, forward, back, past, future. 3+1 dimensions. Or so our primitive Pleistocene-evolved brains find it useful to believe. And we cling to this intuition, even as physics shows us that this view of reality may be only a very narrow perception. One of the most startling possibilities is that our 3+1 dimensional universe may better described as resulting from a spacetime one dimension lower – like a hologram projected from a surface infinitely far away."

    MY TWO-CENTS

First of all, why not just come out and say that our spacetime is resultant of one dimension higher? That this 3+1 dimension is projected (created) by God?

More and more in the scientific community are fronting the notion of our 3+1 universe as being a holographic simulation...that reality is a simulation of sorts. An anti-explanation for the existence of everything in the classical sense of the term.

1 In the beginning God created
    the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form,
and void; and darkness was upon
the face of the deep. And a wind
from God moved upon the face of
    the waters.

    3 And God said, Let there be light;
    and there was light.

    (Genesis 1:1-3 TNK)

If anything, science supports creation. There was a beginning. This place has not always been here. There are limits to the expanse of the heavens. The universe is not infinite.

The "wind from God [that] moved upon the face of the waters"; may we not know this as gravity? (Think about it!) How did He create the heavens? They were stretched out! Not from some *steady state, static* universe but stretched from one place outward.

When He spoke, "Let there be light", "there was light" and from the point He stretched-out the heavens He gives us the distant stars and our expanding universe.

As much as *they* try to *instead-of* explain, (meaning *anti* explain Creation), they offer the darkness which was upon the face of the deep. A void and lifeless theory which stands apart from God.

5 This is the message we have
heard from him and proclaim to
you, that God is light, and in
him is no darkness at all.

    (1 John 1:5 ESV)

Blessings to you this day, and everyday!
