Weak Side - Spiritual Attacks

In sports - a weak side is defined as the side of the field where there are fewer players to defend the ball.  In life, it's where we are vulnerable.

I was ill this weekend.  Not seriously but enough to keep me in the house and on the couch, doing nothing.  My neck hurt so bad it caused a headache and as tired as I was, I could not sleep - my weaknesses all amplified by the illness.  I chalked it up to excessive travel and a grueling work schedule; I thought I was just exhausted.

This morning, I found out a colleague I'd traveled with last week was also sick, her symptoms a bit different but it had attacked her weak side.  My son was sick this weekend, different symptoms but it had attacked his weak side.  Coincidence?  Maybe, or just maybe we'd all been hit with a virus that manifested where we are weakest.

Isn't that how spiritual attacks go?  The enemy zeroes in on our weak side.  Our most vulnerable is where the attack comes in.  Our children, our health, our jobs, our self-esteem, our security... that is where we can expect to be attacked.  Many in the Watcher Community are disappointed that we are still here... perhaps even coming to this site today is a struggle.

The enemy's strategy is brilliant because it can go undetected, we expect trouble on the weak side, life is hard.  I'd ask you to take a moment though and look deeper, is it everyday life or is this an assault by the enemy?  If it is, then friends, you must stay strong and pray in the Spirit.  Pray the full armor of God and go to battle against the enemy.

If you are feeling defeated, I'd ask you to prayerfully consider that the Devil understands not only your weak side but the weapons of warfare.  He employs his own countermeasures against us, if you are struggling, please read Counterterrorism in the Spiritual Realm.

  1. That's exactly the enemy's strategy - always target the weak spot. If only Christians would rise up and fight back, doing the same - attacking at the enemy's weak spot.

    1. Oh no, Gary I have to disagree here. We don't ATTACK Satan or fight BACK. Ever. He's always stronger. We duck and cover behind the shield of faith "above all" (Ephesians 6:16) and let Jesus fight the battle. We don't strive with Satan, not even the archangel Michael did that (Jude 9). I've experienced that MANY times and it always works (+ prayer while covered behind the shield). Please guys, no fight with Satan or you will lose!

    2. Prayer, armor of God, love, but yet we must expose evil and hold fast to the truth. Maranatha!!!

    3. Annabel, I would agree with your comment sister. I find that what brings on the attacks the strongest is when I lose my conscious position in 'death to self' and 'rest in Jesus'. When I forget that I am supposed to be dead to my own sense of security, and resurrect my own strengths and abilities, that's when the giants come to fight. If we can release the fears of losing our comforts, and be overcome by God's love then the prince of this world can come and maybe find nothing in us to contend with, as Jesus said about Himself. The recipe to overcoming ultimately is the part often left out... and they loved not their own lives unto death!

  2. This is so true. And to me, it seems like the enemy is pulling out all of his weapons of mass destruction right now, attacking my marriage, my health, friendships, finances. It's a time of war, and I am leaning on the cross of Christ to give me strength to face these battles day after day. I pray that God will gather His people soon and save us from the oppressive war that is every day aiming for our weak sides. May God be our armor each day til He return and call us Home.

    1. Melanie, I got the Holy Spirit chills from your message, thank you.

It seems like Christians as an entire body are being hit hard right now. It's pretty surreal. Me and my brothers all got hit at the exact same time in our weak spots. Pray for the Lord to please arm your brothers and sisters and he will arm you.

    2. Melanie, You Are Not Alone. Some of the exact same stuff it's happening to me. Attacks on my marriage, attacks on my job, attacks on my friends, it's all happening to me too.
I just choose to stand strong to trust in the Lord even when it seems everyone is against me and people say that I'm against everybody else

  3. Thank you Dolley. Bless you for the encouragement. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think everyone should consider these few things:

God's timing is perfect and when the rapture happens it will be just right.

We are definitely in the right season, even though we have not quite figured out the exact day or hour yet (and we may not, but that is okay too). We can be certain, unless given some other clue/revelation, that we are within weeks or months of the rapture. Many good watcher sources are indicating we are off perhaps by a year -- so the moedim in 2018 are good targets too. This is very likely so God can prepare the church more thoroughly.

In my circles, there are still a lot of Christians who are not paying attention to prophecy and churches are not talking about it. I have heard it prophesied that God will awaken the church soon. That will prepare us even better for a rapture. Jesus did pray for us to be one. John 17:20-23.

We still aren't sure of the red dragon yet. Many speculations are available and one could be right, but there definitely does not seem to be the consensus there is with the great sign. We may yet see something that will clarify things and THAT could wake up the church.

These days of waiting expectantly have their own silver lining. Even though it is hard to wait, it has been an amazing time to work together, and share and to warn the world around us. We ARE awakened. Praise the Lord!

  4. Thank you Gary for your insight. Perhaps we are on the same wavelength, as this past Friday, for no apparent reason I felt very old and worn down. I could not pinpoint why, but knew in my gut it was the constant attacks against everything I believe in from every direction, every day, for many years. In the middle of the day I stopped and watched one of my favorite movies "No Country for Old Men". I prayed to God for strength to keep fighting and preparing for whatever He has planned for me. I will pray daily the full armor of God so that I may go to battle against the enemy. May God be with all of us.

  7. One of the things I've learned is that Daf allows our weak side to exposed (attacked) for a reason. It's the same as when a burglar breaks into a house. He may not break in the front door but the backdoor and it's because that's where the house is the most vulnerable and not just because the burglar knows no one will see him. Once this happens we then go amd make sure the back of the house is as secure as the front, removing vulnerabilities. It's the same way in our lives. God is allowing tje weakest side of us to be exposed so we can come to Hom for help and strength.

I'll share my experience. God allowed me to go through a situation where it was revealed to me that patience was my weakness and this made me vulnerable to the enemy where instead of waiting on God I was moving in my own strength and making a mess thatbI was then asking Dad to get me out of. It was a vicious cycle. Waiting (patience) was a real struggle and I was constantly crying "how long Lord?" But then one day I said to myself that my problem was not waiting but that I had no patience. And my tune quickly changed literally. I wasn't wondering how long or saying Lord I'll be glad when this is over. Instead I was singing teach me Lord how to wait...teach me how to wait on Jesus. And if I can hold out my change will come. It finally got to the point where I understood the story of the hebrew boys in the firey furnace and I was able to say "Lord leave me in the fire until you get the glory out of my life".

Then one of my sisters in Christ said she'd been watching me and she was seeing what I was going through and she said I see that nothing moves you. I laughed and said you shoulda seen me last year. God didn't get me out of the fire but instead taught me how to endure in the midst of the fire.

    I hope this helps someone.

    1. Quo, you're so right about this! HALLELUJAH praise the LORD for His patience with US! :) Indeed at any time when things get like you describe and you fail again and again don't just ask for quick deliverance but for another occasion of testing exercise! You'll see how that works! Bravo! Stay blessed brother

  8. Thank you, Dolley! I've had a tiring cold the last week and a half, and it's been hard to keep a positive attitude. I don't remember how the saying goes exactly: emotions make good servants but poor masters. Hope you're feeling better!

  9. Same here. Finding certain ways of exercising self control to be the hardest thing right now. Also a sore spot on the upper right side of my jaw making me take aspirin just about every time I eat. Been going about two weeks now and I'm getting really tired of it. These teeth will likely be the end of me, so it makes sense that if this is the end, he would be punching me there...

  10. If there is one characteristic I have that is good, is having patience. In my business if building curved stairways, if I didn't have patience, I would have been out of business years ago. Now as far as with biblical events..just imagine how miniscule our whole lifetime is compared to the 1000 year millennium we will experience, and even those 1000 years are miniscule to the eternity awaiting us afterwards.

So whether its a few weeks, or a few months, or a few years..depending on your belief...be patient. It will arrive , and use each day God gives us to help ourselves better help others.

Personally..I desire more time in this planet, as wicked as its getting. I awake with a smile and go to sleep knowing I am a day closer.

  11. Great post here. I'm not a fan of those days in which I (or anybody) is experiencing extreme headaches due to neck strain or whatnot, including migraines...

I recently came across some helpful advice, to be passed along here:

We pray: 'Lord, [I] come to you in the name of Jesus Christ and fully accept this pain, suffering, discomfort or humbling. In exchange, [I] offer it up for the conversion of sinners and the forgiveness of sins. I also offer it up for my family and for those who do not see the error of their ways so that they may see these things. I offer it up to you Lord, through Jesus Christ because only you know what to do with this suffering.'

I sometimes come under such spiritual attacks when I feel that I am discovering new and important information. One such example involves wearing a leg cast one summer around June, July, August... and missing out on certain enjoyable events or activities because of it.

Thank the Lord Jesus Christ that I was actually able to increase my bible study during that particular instance. So I probably turned it on its head and made it into a great thing.
    (Take that (!) spiritual attack!)

    God bless you all.

  12. Thanks Dolly. Spiritual warfare (particularly over your whole family) is one area that Christians are definitely ignorant/naive/negligent in. Put on the whole armour of God the bible says. Our enemy has the smarts, but we have the Blood! He gave it all for us, so we should use what he has given us to 'fight the good fight' waging war against our accuser until the day his neck has been firmly placed under our Lords foot!!!

  14. Good Day Brothers and Sister,

This past weekend I was also hit pretty hard. I was starting to doubt and question everything, I pulled to the one side, started feeling really depressed and exhausted, like I cant cope with all of this information, hoping, waiting. It affected my Family life and family get together that we had.
Yesterday, I felt a sense of renewing and by the strength and grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ He helped me out of this hole I found myself in and further strengthened and renewed my spirit with hope and love.
I pray for strength during this difficult time were there is feelings of constant attack.

  15. I would like to add this and hopefully give some understanding. As I read what many of you are going through I feel like what you're feeling is the manifestation of what's happening in the spirit realm. We may be watching all the natural signs but what we may have forgotten is that all of it is the manifestation of the war that is happening in the spirit.

One morning last week I woke up and my left knee wad killing me. My first question was "what in the world was I doing last night"? I asked that question because I engage in spiritual warfare 95% of the time while I'm sleeping. So I had to write down my dream to realize I'd been on my knees. One morning I woke up feeling like I'd been beat all night long, only to realize that I had been fighting throughout the night in the spirit. This is what spiritual warfare is all about and no man taught it to me but yhe Holy Ghost. Fighting and defeating the enemy in the spirit realm keeps those things from manifesting into the natural realm.

Spiritual warfare need to be taught more. In fact I heard Dad say one day, "There's been enough preaching. My children need to ne taught". And then the Holy Ghost will train us how to effectively engage the enemy in spiritual warfare so we can come out victorious everytime.

I don't know a soldier who goes to war without first being trained but often times this is exactly what we do in spiritual warfare and we get beat down.

  16. I have a testimony to share. Friday night my husband had to drive late to the airport to go and pick up a friend which flight was delayed. While I went to bed, I felt led to pray in tongues. I prayed for about 30 minutes or so and fell asleep peacefully. The next morning my husband told me that as he drove to the airport the previous night he almost hid a pig that was standing in the road (it was in an area where there is no street lights, so he could not see the pig). I immediately knew that was the reason for me praying in tongues.

Further I also want to agree with the posts above that God is waking up his church. Before the Rev 12 sign date, only a handful of people in my church talked about End time things. The rest just sort of brushed it off. But two weeks ago our pastor started a sermon series on the Days of Noah and Lot at the morning services and The times of Elijah in the evening services. How great is that!!! He is doing a great job at bring the truth to our congregation.

  17. This is one of my favorite Scriptures. I have been saying it out loud lately. It's true and beautiful.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10King James Version (KJV)

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

    1. Amen Archangel.

Sometimes I ask the question, why do the righteous suffer? And it always takes me to the book of Job. I while we see it as suffering I also see it as a process. And what I have learned time and time again is that there will always be some measure of suffering (processing) before a promotion. Being prepared for the promotion will always have some suffering involved. As we go from glory to glory we do so by some suffering and sacrifice. Make sure to learn from the experiences on level B because the wisdom gained from those experiences will be needed on level C.

    2. I think suffering teaches us compassion. Then we can help others who are suffering because we understand exactly how it feels. Jesus suffered unimaginable agony and was spat on and despised and was beaten to the point of being unrecognizable. And He was completely innocent and without sin. What He did was the greatest act of victory and love ever. We will spend eternity thanking Him. And I also think of what it says in the Bible about our current suffering. Romans 8:18 Version (KJV)

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
