Israeli Political Crisis: Netanyahu Fails To Form Government

UPDATE (4:30 PM CT): The last minute wrangling was to no avail.  Netanyahu and his Likud party failed to gain support from the 61 MKs needed to form a government.  In the end, Avigdor Lieberman wouldn't budge on his demands.  Then, moments ago, the Knesset voted 74-45 to dissolve itself and hold a new election on September 17th.  This is unprecedented in Israeli election history.  The vote was held to prevent runner-up Benny Gantz from being offered the opportunity to form a government.  It appears that Netanyahu will remain Prime Minister in the interim.

UPDATE (2:00 PM CT): Netanyahu caves on Lieberman's demand.  Will support draft bill as is.  Netanyahu has apparently secured 60 MKs and needs just one more.  Kulanu will also throw in with the coalition if Netanyahu can get the 61st MK to sign on.  The question now remains: how will Lieberman respond and will the ultra-Orthodox parties jump ship?

With less than four hours to go before a midnight deadline, current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is racing to cobble together the 61 seat coalition in the Knesset needed to form a government.  Prospects have turned grim as Avigdor Lieberman is refusing to abandon his push for a bill that would make mandatory conscription of ultra-Orthodox Jews in the national draft.

If no coalition is formed by midnight, the Knesset will dissolve and new elections will need to be held—unprecedented in Israeli history.  Why this?  Why now?

Apparently Netanyahu is suddenly scrambling to garner support from political enemies like the Labor Party, but so far they have turned down the offers.  What this is leading to in the short term, and how this ends, is anyone's guess, but it's all happening at a very fragile time in the Middle East with Russia and Iran firmly planted in Syria, and Iran now moving full throttle toward enriching weapons grade uranium, all the while U.S. and Iranian forces are in a tense standoff.

I can say this with confidence: if the Knesset dissolves, Israel will be entering dangerous and turbulent water.  Will her enemies look to exploit the power vacuum and political chaos for attack?

In other news, this week Jared Kushner travels to the Middle East to once again shore up support for his comprehensive "Deal of the Century", and, from his perspective, hopefully seal the deal.  The Palestinian Authority is not on board, but all of the key Gulf players seem to be behind it.

  1. And what will this do to the timing of the peace plan? Put it off? If it goes too long, Trump isn't going to want to start this when it gets close to campaigning for the 2020 run.

    1. Ray, seems to me you're a pretty hardcore Zionist then? Try to watch #Know More News or #TruNews on YouTube regarding the danger you're heading to. Noahide Laws. That's what you're praying for. The bible calls it the system of the "beast" (Revelation 13). Good luck!

    2. Ray, no offense but perhaps this is the prayer you should join then:

It's from Kabballah and openly calling to kill Christians in fact. #Israeli News Live YTC informs about that too.

    3. TruNews is replacement theology, a false doctrine which negates the eternal covenant regarding the Holy Land in which place Jesus returns to sit on the Throne of David when His people finally recognize Him as their promised Messiah.

    4. The "Beast" is the Catholic Church. Israel is the Woman. The Woman is surrounded by the sun, moon and twelve stars. The only passage of scripture that mentions all of these heavenly bodies together is Genesis 37, where Joseph’s dream of the sun, moon and 12 stars symbolized his father Jacob, his mother Rachel, and the twelve sons of Jacob who, along with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, were the patriarchs of the nation Israel.

  6. With less than an hour to deadline, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says it seems that a new election might be inevitable as Israeli lawmakers head to vote on a bill to dissolve the Knesset, effectively sending the country to a new election seven weeks after Israelis went to the ballot.

  8. PIN-POINTS ON THE 40TH DAY OF THE OMER

    Ascension Day Greetings!

Blessings to you and yours in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord!!

    Did you know,

    1) Torahcalendar.com has the Israeli elections happening on the fourth day of Sukkot (Feast of Booths/Feast of Tabernacles). Of course that is the ecclesiastic calendar and not the civil calendar.

    2) Election Day will be three (3) before Hoshana Rabba (M7D21) or the 21st of Tishrei. (Remember that Jewish days begin/end at sunset).

    3) Hmmm, 7/21. Lots of sevens in there?!

    7 / 7 + 7 + 7 == 7/21

Now that you mention it, Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 are the 730th day since the Yom Teruah (Day of Shouting/Feast of Trumpets) and the Great Sign in 2017. As in, two solar years!

Q: About how old was Jesus when the Maji arrived and time came to celebrate the first Christmas?

    A: About two years ( 365 * 2 = 730 days)

    Q: What is Strongs (G730)?

A: (G730) “ἄρσεν" [arsen] as in English, “She gave birth to a *male* child” (Rev 12:5 ESV)

Q: Which Knesset just got dissolved?
    A: The 7 + 7 + 7 = 21st Knesset

Q: How many letters are in the Hebrew Alephbet?
    A: 22

Q: What is the last letter in the Hebrew Alephbet?
A: Tav “ת” is the 22nd and last letter.

Q: What is the mark Ezekiel records as being put on the faithful in Ezekiel 9?
A: The Tav “ת” or what then looked more like a cross or letter "x".

...but the plot only gets deeper!

    Blessings,

    PR

    1. PS...The calendar references regarding Hoshana Rabba this year are by the ecclesiastic calendar NOT the civil calendar. Many of you will know that there is about a month offset between the civil and spiritual calendar this year.

Confusing, I know, if you're not used to the Hebrew calendars and leap month.

      Cheers!

  9. A PIN-POINT

Jordanian King tells Kushner a Palestinian state is the basis for peace

    Quoting, i24news.tv,

"The Jordanian head of state unequivocally told Donald Trump's son-in-law that a Palestinian state within 1967 borders and Jerusalem as its capital was a non-negotiable condition to any peace agreements."

  10. So from what I'm reading it's a little complicated regarding the political situation in Israel. The Prime Minister has the power to dissolve the Knesset himself and call for snap elections, which is not unusual.

But what's unique here is that the Knesset has never dissolved *itself*. Since the Knesset elects the PM, the PM can't dissolve it following the general election since they haven't elected him yet.

That's why MKs had to vote to dissolve via a bill. That's what's brand new here.

If I'm understanding this correctly, it means there will be no Knesset between now and the elections, but Bibi will remain PM in the interim.

Crazy stuff. And on Ascension Day!

    ---

As a little rapture tidbit: "Knesset" is the Hebrew word for assembly. The "Church" comes from Greek ekklesia, which technically means "assembly". So around midnight on Ascension Day in Israel (when the vote was held)... The "Assembly" disappeared.

#Know More News "Israel Hacking Elections Worldwide" 5/30/19

So the point is: To usher in the antichrist "Messiah" Netanyahu wouldn't need any opposition to Noahide Laws. That is what he urgently wants to get rid of in new elections now in his own government. Check out #Israeli News Live also with DeAnne Looper interview today regarding Kabballah. You might be surprised what you have been supporting here. Wake up to reality or wake up some day to Revelation 13. MARANATHA!

    1. Yes, Israel remains in unbelief.

No, that doesn't mean Israel therefore loses its right to the land. It means Israel is going to have to suffer terribly for 1260 days until God takes her to a place of safety once the Trib begins.

There are dozens and dozens of promises to the Jews and to national Israel.

I want every Jew in Israel to recognize who Jesus is. Tragically, it will take the DoTL for them to finally get it. That said, I am still, and unashamedly, a Zionist 100%.

The land belongs to Israel and only Israel, however, I do not support a Third Temple. The Third Temple is blasphemous (see God's thoughts on it in Isa. 66).

I do not support TruNews or the anti-semite Rick Wiles. His messages are false, as is his anti-Jewish, anti-rapture, post-trib theology. Wiles is bad news. Beware of him.

Nearly every country on the planet is aligned against Israel, either military or politically. That tells me what I need to know.

      Blessings.

    3. Oh wow Gary, that's a Bild statement indeed. Did you know that according to what national Israel has planned for Revelation 13 you just CANNOT be a Christian simultaneously to being an "unashamed 100% Zionist"? Hmmm... I would think that over if I were you. Blessings your way!

    4. PS: God FOREKNEW political Zionism. Just like He foreknew the crucifixion of Jesus. Doesn't mean He SUPPORTED it nor is He pleased by Christians supporting the synagogue of Satan. Think about that whom you want to please by saying this.

      Exodus 32:26

Note: The children of Levi were the priests who didn't own any land on earth. This is the picture for the church with a heavenly citizenship.

On whose side are you to be found when the LORD calls?

  13. according to Jack Langford and Gary Stearman (Prophecy Watchers) there is a picture of the Rapture on Pentecost. Pentecost is 10 days from today as most of you know. You can find that video and listen to the evidence. High watch time with everything that's going on:) Maranatha!

    1. Hi Rhonda,

Yes, Jack Langford makes and excellent case for the picture of the resurrection/rapture in Pentecost; but at the same time says that it may not be on Pentecost. I highly recommend Jack's books as offered on Prophecy Watchers and have a few of them myself.

Here is a link to the show on PW,

Jack Langford: Pentecost and the Rapture

You may remember that Jack said we live one second from going home. It is a fact that has a maturing effect on us as followers of Christ. He was very specific on this point and humble in expressing his need to constantly pray to stay in the centre of the Lord's will.

      I share that sentiment.
