Libya has fallen

The summer stalemate seems to have come to an end as the rebels in Libya made some dramatic advances in the west over the last two weeks. Friday night, caches of weapons were smuggled into Tripoli by tugboat and Saturday uprisings were instigated all across the city. In a dramatic and surprising turn-of-events, rebels have taken control of most of the city and have just made it to Green Square. Tripoli is fallen and the rebels have overthrown Qaddafi. He is apparently still alive, but on the run. Two of his sons have just been captured.

There is now a complete power vacuum in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt. That is most of North Africa. With the fall of Libya, the revolution in Syria will gain dramatic momentum. Get ready.
