Imminency, Elders, and the Open Door. Jesus Is on the Way!

I don't have Jeff with me today, but given the lateness of the hour and some of the high watches coming up, I wanted to share some thoughts with you about the doctrine of imminency and loving one another right before the Ark door slams shut. I also wanted to revisit the 24 elders, as well as some of the Scriptures used to defend a post-tribulational rapture.

  6. Dear Gary, thank you so much for this. It is the best explanation and exegesis of the 24 elders I have seen! Very helpful and encouraging. It is already nearing midnight in Jerusalem, so today may not be the day. But God. God has His day and His hour already appointed for us, soon and very soon. Hold on brothers and sisters, we will meet before long. Judi

  7. This is another scripture which I believe to be mis-interpreted.

'But of that day and hour knows no man, no not the angels in heaven but my Father only'. Matt. 24:36 What I want to concentrate on is what day Jesus was referring to. Read the verse before.

'Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away'. Matt 24:35

Jesus didnot mean the rapture OR the second coming when he said that. He was referring to the time after the millenial reign on earth. The earth after the tribulation will be renovated but it will still be the same earth.

After the millenial reign this present heaven and earth is going to be destroyed and replaced.

    Check out these verses:

    II Peter 3:10-13
    Isaiah 65:17
    Rev. 21:1

  8. Last night around midnight, my neighbors lost their little girl to some kind of asthma related complication. (Step father assumes that doctors messed up her drugs somehow, they are waiting to know more...) Please pray for them and the rest of our neighborhood. We've had 7 or 8 deaths this year already and everyone is wearing a bit thin at this point...

    1. Dear Kris, I know that losing a child hurts so much! Yes it is sure that I pray for them and for all the neighbors of the street. God is in control regardless. May the neighbors come to Jesus through this difficult trial.

  9. Thanks for the great exhortation Gary! From all the misinformation in the world, our 'love for one another will PROVE' to the world that we are HIS disciples is what is most crucial.

Re the 24 elders, my 'but' relates to the fact that representatives don't have to turn up once a kingdom has been fully populated, like the queen of England has been queen through multiple births in England. You even noted yourself that congressmen etc are elected to represent a group of people, however these represent those who are alive and yet to be born. Again a reason why the multitude in Rev 7 is purposefully distinct in number from the 24 elders as one IS the whole, and the other represents the whole.

I have been particularly interested from a comparison perspective looking at the role of the 12 disciples in their role as judges from Matthew 19:28 where Jesus told his disciples that they will sit on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel at the renewal of all things. This is likely in their role at the millennial reign. The 12 disciples won't simply begin to rule/judge at the end of the millennial reign, but from day 1. While this is not proof that the 24 elders were established at the start of the 'dispensation of grace', we cannot ignore the fact that thrones were established at the start of the period...just like the 24 courses of priests were established immediately after appointing solomon as King and before the temple was built. If we follow this type, then the 24 Elders were established prior to or at the time of the 'temple' being established in the age of grace. HOWEVER - we could note that although believers are the 'temple of the living God', another temple was seen in heaven in revelation 11:19.

Anyway - all interesting and I don't believe there is enough to swing the 24 elders either pre or post-trib (intra-seal however, lol).

    Blessings

    Ryan

  11. I unfortunately missed seeing the star last night. =( However, I saw some great pictures from others. AMAZING! I also read this more that 3 asteroids are going to be flying near Earth on Christmas. Wonder what significance is there?? (not close enough to hit Earth) Also a couple days ago a Volcano erupted in Hawaii, pretty big one considering as I have heard. I also found it interesting that a Cat 5 typhoon hit Fiji last week as well. As we have said all 2020, the Earth is travailing. Additionally, the tensions with Iran, Russia, and China are intensifying... I mean they always are, but now feels different. Being a war vet myself you can see the writing on the wall if you will, and we know these are major players in WW3 which is close at hand.

We are going home soon.. perhaps sooner than most think!

  12. I want to thank you brothers for teaching me much about the rapture and the Trinity. This site is a gold mine of solid information.

For months now I have been seeing '73' and '37' pop up together. I kept ruminating on this. What could it mean. Here are some things I've discovered:

2021 will be Israel's 73rd birthday. 73 years after 1948. 2021 is also 37 years after 1984. That's interesting that there is a dual reflection: 48/84 and 37/73. It gets eerier. Karl Marx's 'Communist Manifesto' came out on 2/21 in 1848. 2/21 (or 221) is the same as 2021 if you drop the zero, which we can always do when it comes to looking at number correlations. So the date of the publication of MARX (sound like MARKS of the Beast) CM reflects both the year 2021 and the 8/4/8 numerical reflection of 1948 and 1984.

It goes deeper. The Roe v Wade decision came out on 22/1/73. There we again see 221 and 73, reflecting that 2021 is Israel's 73rd year. Year 73 would be a fitting start year for Daniel's 70th week b/c it would end after 80 years to conform to a generation being 70-80 years.

Richard Nixon was president 37 and his Watergate activities were exposed in '73 in DC. "The Exorcist," about a woman and child being attacked by demonic forces in *DC* came out on 12/26 in '73. Do you see the 122 in that date, a reflection of 221. Another 48/84 reflection occurs in Orwell's novel '1984', about a globalist socialist police state. This novel was completed in '48 and was about the year '84. The Washington Monument was started in 1848 and completed in 1884 and had its dedication ceremony on *2/21* in 1885. Judges 4:6 is about 'Barak son of Abinoam' and Luke 10:18 is about Satan falling from heaven like "lightning from the heights" (Barak O' Bama). 4/6 is .6666 and 10/18 is .5555. The Washington Monument is 6666 inches tall and 555 ft tall.

On the back cover of Obama's new memoir, he is depicted staring out at the Washington Monument, and his opening page has two quotes about "fly, fly, fly" and "Do not discount our powers, we have reached for the infinite". Really he was the smooth-talking front man for the American empire/police state. This Antichrist (or he is at least AN Antichrist) was born on *8/4*.

So it looks like the elites mapped out 2021 as the year of the abortion of the human race, the start of the 70th week, the "marks" of a socialist microchipped humanity (like '1984'). Now surely it's not a coincidence that Pope Francis just turned *84* years old and he has started advocating for a universal basic income (socialism).

Folks, it's clear as day, and I would be worried about it if I didn't have our blessed hope of the rapture (pre-Trib) which is 100% guaranteed by scripture.

    1. Strictly speaking, the blessed hope is the appearing of Jesus, not our departure from this world (regardless of ones tribulation rapture perspective). Whether we escape it, or go through it, our ultimate and blessed hope is that HE appears and we will see him as he is.

    2. Zachary, that is amazing. Wow! Thanks to you or whoever did all that research. And Thanks for sharing it. Makes me wonder what else we don't know. Until recently, I never knew just how planned everything really was. I knew God's plan, but to see all this about how the wicked have planned every detail. Wow! They think they are in charge, I wonder how long they will be before they realize they aren't and are destroyed. I'm so thankful that I am not one of them. That God choose me. Just think, we could have been born into one of their families. I will never take it for granted again, that I am a Christian. I am not well off, I am disabled and I have health problems, and I'm a single mom, but.....I AM A CHILD OF THE MOST HIGH and I am privileged!(blessed beyond measure!) Boy am I ever glad to be on God's side. Thank You, Jesus!

  13. I found this verse because on high watch days that don’t bring Jesus’ return I do get kind of down. This was encouraging to me:
God is not man, that He should lie, or the son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it? Numbers 23:19.
For “the counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.” Ps 33:11
Our God is unchangeable in His purposes. What He has determined He will bring about. It will be achieved. Our Father does not hem and haw over a promise. Understand that He is on His way. Thank you Gary and Jeff for all you do. Merry Christmas!

  14. Many thanks to you Gary and to all other brothers and sisters on this website.
But first I would like to say that until now, God has preserved me to have a child or grandchild die.
And I am so thankful to GodJesus for this (and for many other Graces).
Now I would like to say to Garnison Kris that I pray for him, for the parents and related of this little angel that has just died, and for all those that have lost a child.
Even though I am a believer in our God-JesusChrist and even though I believe that ALL the little children will be saved and taken to Him (The Highest Father and Lover of His children) I am so sad for those families and related of these disappeared or dead little angels.
Gary, I am so thankful that you don't create dispute or controversy, but only points of view, informations and messages of true Love.
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:34-35 KVJ.
And I think that if you are or become THIS disciple of GodJesus you are saved, because GodJesus is Love.
Each and every disciple of GodJesus will become His Body.
For me THIS is the Grace of GodJesus.
I have got the Grace to Love you all.
    Sincerely
    Fred

  15. THIRD TIMES A HARM?

23rd Knesset disperses, sending Israel to elections likely by end of March 2021

    Quoting, i24news.tv,

"As the Knesset (Israel Parliament) failed to pass a state budget by midnight Tuesday, the Jewish state will head into its fourth election in less than two years with the general vote expectedly taking place at the end of March 2021."

That's it folks. The Knesset has been dissolved again and snap elections are expected for early Spring. Those of you who follow Paul Dawson will know he suspects this weekend to be a high watch given several prophecies from Jewish mystics.

Keeping in mind that G-d can speak, has spoken and will speak, to anyone He wants it will be interesting to see what comes to pass.

    PEACE & SECURITY

Morocco, Israel seal normalization with first direct flight

    Quoting, i24news.tv,

"The first Israel-Morocco direct commercial flight landed in Rabat Tuesday to mark the latest US-brokered diplomatic normalization deal between the Jewish state and an Arab country.

President Donald Trump's son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner was on board along with Israeli National Security Advisor Meir Ben Shabbat, incidentally a son of Morocco-born Jews."

    DIRE STRAITS?

USS Georgia Transits Strait of Hormuz

    Quoting, Navy.mil,

"MANAMA, Bahrain – The nuclear-power Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Georgia (SSGN 729) along with the guided-missile cruisers USS Port Royal (CG 73) and USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) transited the Strait of Hormuz entering the Arabian Gulf, Dec. 21."

Face it, there is TOO MUCH going on in the world to share it all. Personally, I think it ironic (but not surprising) that Guided Missile Cruiser hull number 73 passed through these contentious waters on the 21st. After-all, 73 is the 21st prime number.

It certainly seems time is getting very short. Can conflict be far off with the one-year anniversary of the slaying of Soleimani close at hand?

US ready to respond if Iran tries to avenge Soleimani killing: general

Hmmm, could conflict erupt in the ME before Inauguration Day? The last trump per-se? (1 Corinthians 15:52 KJV) Not beating drums here but 2020 is missing a few features such as a major asteroid impact or major war.

Signs, signs everywhere are signs...and we continue in our work as encouragers, expositors and teachers, praying for and pointing others to Christ. May you be caught red-handed doing the same!

    Blessings

  16. Düsterdieck has an excellent rationale to exclude "us" from Revelation 5:9, in that the codex Alexandrinas excludes it.....as the Critical Text analysts agree, ie Daniel Wallace. It makes no sense for "us" to be included in 5:9, while the Majority Text uses "them"....I would agree with Daniel Wallace that "us" was inserted to provide an object for the verb, which actually is not necessary in the Greek. It is also difficult to explain how the 4 creatures are singing they are redeemed from peoples, when clearly they are not men.....not to be argumentative here, but its fair to present a view from the leading critical text analyst from DTS

    1. "us" in verse 9 does not line up with "them" in verse 10....which is why the Critical Text excludes "us" from 9.....it's not just because of Codex Alexandrinus

      Delete
    2. Thank you for sharing, Sam. And good timing - I had literally just responded to a similar point on the discussion board.

Proponents of the CT will definitely defend the removal of "us", but I think this is one of those issues where the evidence is overwhelmingly compelling in the other direction.

      1. 23 Greek MSS or MS fragments contain Rev. 5:9–10. 22 include "us" (ήμᾱς).

      2. The solitary one that doesn't include ήμᾱς is broken into the next column at the very point where ήμᾱς would occur, arguing heavily that this single Alexandrinus was a simple copyist error.

      3. The object argument can never be more than an argument from silence as many verbs do take objects. In fact that same type of object construction with ήμᾱς exists *twice* in the very next chapter (Rev. 6:16).

      4. Virtually (maybe all) translations prior to the CT included "us". CT translations simply interpolate nouns found in *no* MSS whatsoever (e.g., "men", "people", etc).

      5. Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, Latin, Coptic, and Armenian all include "us".

      6. Very importantly: the single MS that excludes "us" is from the 5th century. Sinaiticus is 4th century, maybe even 100 years older than Alexandrinus, and INCLUDES "US".

Regarding the fact that the four living creatures are also singing, as people of the Book we have to stick with the text first and foremost before delving into contextual questions. The evidence overwhelmingly supports "us". As to why the creatures are also singing here, three possibilities have been offered:

      1. It is simply an antiphon. This is my position. Antiphonal lines are not foreign to the Bible at all, with examples in Ezra and Psalms, at the very least. In other words, since the overwhelming weight of evidence is "us" in v. 9 and "them" in v. 10, the elders sing v. 9 and the creatures sing v. 10.

      2. The TR also includes "us" in v. 10. This might mean that the living creatures are a symbol of some sort for the Church (in addition to the elders).

      3. In v. 8 the creatures and elders both "fall down" before the Lamb, but given that the creatures are mentioned first and the elders last, the antecedent of "they are singing" in v. 9 might simply be the elders of v. 8. This is bolstered by the fact that the ones singing are each holding a harp, which might seem strange for animal-like creatures covered in eyes to be holding/playing.

      Blessings!

    3. Thanks Gary! You are always civil, which is a blessing to me as a fellow believer! I suppose this is one where we will agree to disagree....I give respect to the Majority Text view, but "counting noses" is not enough for me...which is underscores the rationale for CT theory, and has provided us Nestle-Aland. Sinaiticus is widely recognized as having extensive corrections and errors, far more than Alexandrinus, and in my view that needs to be recognized. The crux of the CT view, which I agree with, is that "us" was inserted, and subsequently reproduced as an error....the reason being, that "us" in verse 9 per MT, does not line up with "them" in verse 10 per MT.....hence, Daniel Wallace argues that "us" was an insertion, and I agree with him

      Delete
  17. I suppose to say that verses 9 and 10 should be taken into account together, since verses weren't enumerated.....to take 9 solo from 10 is taking it out of context. The context of 9 and 10 together is that "us" in the MT does not read correctly with "them" in what we call verse 10. If the MT has "us" in 9, should it not support "us" or "we" in 10? It doesn't.....the MT overwhelmingly has "them" in 10, not "us" or "we"....this is why Wallace and others exclude "us" from 9

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm going to nominate you to be on the board for the next revision of Nestle-Aland!

  19. I would add that I find in incongruent that believers would be "represented" by "elders" in chapter 5, but are innumerable after the 6th seal as individuals, which is the first indication of believers being represented in heaven in Revelation. Why would believers be represented in Chapter 5 as allegory, and then seen as individuals literally after the 6th seal? I don't see it....

    ReplyDelete
  20. In any case...we can agree that we are very near the rapture! In the final analysis, we are maybe three to four years apart.....but, as time goes on, those dates will converge! Shalom!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good thoughts my friend. Perhaps we'll soon find out in person—in the Throne Room—when the Lord Jesus takes us home.

Regarding believers after the sixth seal, I'm not sure what you are specifically referring to. In my video I explain the common pre-trib, pre-millennial view, which is that the Church is represented by the elders, whereas the Trib Saints are represented by the 5th seal martyrs (Ch. 6) and great multitude in white robes (Ch. 7). The elders happen to have the exact same things promised to believers in chs. 2–3, whereas the great multitude of ch. 7 (which is specifically said to "come out of the Great Tribulation") does not have the things promised to the churches.

Regarding allegory, I don't see and haven't said that the 24 elders are merely a symbol. No, I see them as literal beings that John literally saw. I explain in my video that the background for the 24 elders comes from 1 Chronicles 24 and 25 where King David instituted the 24 priestly courses/representatives and the 24 musicians. In both instances the 24 were literally 24 individuals, but they represented much larger groups. In fact, just four verses before the antiphon of Rev. 5:9-10, Jesus' relation to King David is emphasized. But even if the 24 elders were merely a symbol, Revelation gives warrant for that view, as well, given that many other such symbols of corporate entities exist (the dragon, the beast, the lampstand, the woman, the whore, etc, etc, etc).

    In summary:

    1. Regardless of the view as to which MS is superior, the argument for "us" in v. 9 wins numerically. 22 Greek MSS with "us" and 1 without "us".

    2. The 1 without "us" happens to break at the exact point ήμᾱς would occur.

    3. "Us" wins in terms of antiquity, as well. Sinaiticus predates Alexandrinus by almost 100 years.

    4. "Us" wins in all other non-Greek MSS, with the exception of the scholarly-ignored Ethiopic. It's even included in the venerable Vulgate and Peshitta, which were perhaps the first complete Old + New Testament Bibles.

    5. The object argument is simply an interpretive argument from silence and doesn't stem from any real linguistic/syntactical issue. In fact, it could even be argued that syntactically an object is almost demanded here. *Who* or *what* did the Lamb purchase with His blood? As pointed out, the same type of verb-object relationship exists twice in the very next chapter. This argument against "us" could be summarized as: "us" doesn't make sense in v. 9 if "them" is in v. 10. It can't go much deeper than that. Yet "us" is there and so I believe we have to deal with the text we have.

    6. Finally, don't forget that the single MS that excludes "us" doesn't include *any* pronoun or noun in its place. It's simply "You purchased . . . to God in Your blood . . ." In other words, *every* CT translation interpolates a word here that has no MS basis of any kind whatsoever. Talk about a blatant violation of Rev. 22:18-19! Think about the implications of this one word. If people were to acknowledge ήμᾱς here their whole paradigm would have to shift. Just briefly scrolling through a few CT translations I see "people," "persons," "those," and "men." All, frankly, bogus.

The LORD is taking us home soon and I'm going to hold on, by faith, to His clear promises of 1. an open door, 2. an escape from the hour of trial coming on the whole world, 3. never to be blotted out of the Book of Life, 4. a throne in Heaven, 5. a white garment, 6. a golden garland, 7. a new name, and 8. never to be moved out of the Temple as if a pillar. Maranatha!

  22. Consider that the First Resurrection follows that same organization as the Harvest model:
    1. Jesus and past Saints resurrected at Jesus' resurrection are (First Fruits).
    2. All Saints since Stephen to now is the Main Harvest
    3. The corners left (not devoted to God) to the poor (outsiders) Trib. Saints (possibly the other 5 Virgins who knew Christ, but not prepared and missed the rapture) all eventually overcome by the Anti-Christ.
