Victory In The United Methodist Church

In a 6-to-3 vote, the highest judicial body within the United Methodist Church ruled that the consecration of practicing homosexual clergy violated church law.  This was a showdown many years in the making.  Many thought that the UMC would go the way of a number of liberal mainline denominations like the Episcopal Church that have abandoned basic biblical definitions of sin, marriage, gender, and personhood.

The tables began to turn last May when in a 445-to-310 vote, Methodist Church representatives voted to overturn longstanding pro-choice policy and officially become a pro-life denomination.  It is thought that theologically conservative Methodist Church leaders from Africa helped carry the vote.

With the 6-to-3 vote, the UMC is, at least for now, both pro-life and pro-biblical marriage.  Praise God.

  1. Let God be magnified!

Psalm 2:2-4 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
