Magnitude 7.9 Quake Strikes Off Papua New Guinea
A massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake, originally measured at 8.0, struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea early Sunday. It was the most powerful earthquake in the world in several months. Luckily the quake was at such a depth that no major damage was reported, though a tsunami warning was given.
