Greg's crazy numbers

Just some random thoughts:

Mount Sinai - Ten Commandments - Old Testament Covenant - Pentecost - I will be your God...

           Golden Calf - 3,000 were killed - Exodus 32:28

Jerusalem - The Holy Spirit released - Wind - Tongues of Fire - Pentecost - New Testament Covenant

           3,000 souls were added - Acts 2:41

Revelation 12:1-6 (NIV)
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.  She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

Matthew 2:13-15 (NIV)
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

Interesting - Jesus' life began with 3 1/2 years (360 + 360 + 360 + 180 = 1,260 days) in quiet Egyptian solitude and ended with 3 1/2 years of very public ministry.

Of course the 70th week of Daniel.
Daniel 9:27 (NIV)
He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”
3 1/2 years + 3 1/2 years.

Of course Hanukkah in 167 B.C. Antiochus IV Epiphanes, desecrating the temple 200 years before Christ's sacrifice, is a big parallel with the AOD.

400 years of Egyptian captivity prefix the Old Testament story.
400 years of intertestamental silence draw it to a close.
400 years since the loud proclamation of the Bible began, since the 1611 KJV and the Guttenberg press began widely distributing The Word.

70 years of Babylonian captivity

Jeremiah 25:11-12 (NIV)
This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
“But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the Lord, “and will make it desolate forever.
In A.D. 70 Israel once again became desolate.
Matthew 24:2 (NIV)
“Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
Matthew 24:32-33 (NIV)
“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.
Israel "the fig tree" was reborn in 1947/1948 and is now nearing 70 years of age.
Psalm 90:10 (NIV)
Our days may come to seventy years,
    or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

19 year pattern - 1260 - 1290

Israel's rebirth predicted to the day

120 Jubilees

6,000 years completed

6 days of creation + 1 day of rest = 7 days of creation.

2 Peter 3:8 (NIV)
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
Revelation 20:1-6 (NIV)
And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

The Blood Moons

Hosea 6:1-2 (NIV)

“Come, let us return to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces
    but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.
After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.

John 4:40-43 (NIV)

So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers.

They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

After the two days he left for Galilee.

Matthew 16:21
From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
Matthew 17:23
They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.” And the disciples were filled with grief.
Matthew 20:19
and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”
Matthew 27:64
So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.”
Luke 9:22
And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”
Luke 13:32
He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’
Luke 18:33
they will flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
Luke 24:7
‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”
Luke 24:21
but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.
Luke 24:46
He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
John 2:1
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
Acts 10:40
but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.
Acts 27:19
On the third day, they threw the ship’s tackle overboard with their own hands.
1 Corinthians 15:4
that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Jesus' ministry began at a Wedding.

John 2:1
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

After the tribulation

Revelation 19:6-9 (NIV)
Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,
    was given her to wear.”
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)
Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

My points:

God's word is full of symmetry, beauty and poetry.  Every jot and tittle as the Hebrew ancients would say is full of meaning.

Sometimes you can see the connections with the future, from looking at how God moves in the past.

Can I say that I know the day or the hour, no.  Can I say the things that are happening today, sure look like our God, how He moves and how He has operated - YES.

Will the Rapture come with a perfect binding of signs in the sun, moon, stars, heaven, dates, symbolism, poetry and all the rest - you can take it to the bank, that our God will have been screaming His return from the heavens.  God wishes that none would be lost and all would come to repentance.  If you watch, you'll see.
John 3:10-12 (NIV)
“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
Matthew 16:2-3 (NIV)
He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

It is true that these mysteries have been hidden, until the time of the end, but verse 4 and 10 tell us that at the end we will understand.  If indeed we are at that place, would be in this time of understanding.

Daniel 12 (NIV)

“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”

7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”

In 974 B.C. the Jewish Kingdom was divided and the 10 Northern Tribes of Israel were lost.
974 years later is of course the year 1.
974 years later is the year 974 A.D.
974 years later is the year 1948 A.D.
The Kingdom is re-established - May 14th, 1948.

  1. This is a really great post! I can only imagine how perfectly it will all fit together when we one day see clearly.
