Isaiah 9:10 (NASB)

But we will rebuild with smooth stones;
The sycamores have been cut down,
But we will replace them with cedars.”
Isaiah recounts the defiance of the 10 Northern Tribes (Israel) in 700+bc after the Assyrians come and attack. Instead of humility they announce their defiance. You Assyrians have knocked down our weak mud bricks. We'll rebuild with solid rock. You have cut down our pretty, but weak sycamores. We'll replant with mighty cedars (the word is pinecea = pine).
