America's judgement

America's judgement

Today we shout in the streets with joy over the demise of Osama Bin Laden--foolish really to celebrate the destruction of one person, when we are next in line.

I am certainly glad this threat has been removed, though the threat remains. Certainly not a time to lower your guard... quite the opposite.

As glad as I am over the news, it is hard to be excited. As evil as this man was, he was just a man, though a terribly evil and misguided one. Still I wouldn't wish hell on my worst enemy. One glimpse into the fire of the abyss, the smell and the sound of the screams, and you might feel the same.

Ezekiel 18:23 -
"Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked," declares the Lord GOD, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?

Ezekiel 18:32 -
"For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies," declares the Lord GOD. "Therefore, repent and live."

Ezekiel 33:11 -
"Say to them, 'As I live!' declares the Lord GOD, 'I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?

Matthew 23:37 -
