Contentment - War in Heaven - Fall like lightening - Who are we fighting

Blog post

I don't think we know who we are fighting and don't take the battles seriously enough.

1 Corinthians 16:13 (NASB)

Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

Ephesians 6:12 (NASB)

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

1. When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3. But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4. Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.

  1. What would you say 'the heavenly places' is referring to here?

  2. In Luke 10:18 Jesus tells us that He saw Satan cast out of heaven.

    Revelation 12:9 says something similar, but I believe this to be a future event.

    In Job we read of Satan having access to God.

    Somehow he was cast out, but still has some sort of access and will not be completely cast out until sometime in the tribulation. I think it may be around the mid-point as I believe this section of Revelation is filled with mid-trib events.
