Media "End Of The World" Meltdown

If we've learned one thing about major media sources like Fox News, Newsweek, National Geographic, and others over the past couple of weeks it's that their fact-checking teams are about as sophisticated as the National Enquirer or World Weekly News.

Just look at these ridiculous headlines:

When Will The World End? Doomsday Theory Says Fiery Hell On Earth Kicks Off Saturday (Newsweek)

Why It's Unlikely the World Will End on September 23 (National Geographic)

A Wave of Prophecies That the World Is Ending Saturday May Not Be Correct, It Turns Out (Slate)

World ending Saturday? Here are 8 times the world was supposed to end, and didn't (USA Today)

Those creepy British tabloids are all over it, too.

All of zero people have claimed that the world will end tomorrow - and that apparently includes David Meade.  There are many theories about what might soon happen, but none of them involve the world ending on September 23, 2017 or anytime soon.  The excitement surrounding September 23, 2017 has been generated because an astronomical alignment will appear that matches the description given in Revelation 12:1-2 quite literally.  This much can be seen by anyone with a computer or mobile phone and observers in the Middle East will be able to see it with their own eyes if they look before sunrise and after sunset tomorrow.

Fox News and The Sun have already published retractions about the Saturday sensationalism that they themselves created.

In any case, for those Christians who love Christ and long for Heaven (which should be all Christians, but unfortunately is not), there is an ongoing and natural expectancy for the return of the Lord.  We don't know for sure the day or hour, but we're continually watchful and hopeful as all Christians are commanded to be (Lk. 12:35-46, 21:36; Matt. 24:42-51; 1 Thess. 5:4; Rev. 3:3).

The events leading up to Christ's return will commence one day (I believe very soon) because God's Word is true (see here, here, and here) and you can be sure that major media outlets will be telling the world "it can't be" right up until the day Believers board the ark.

  2. Is there something different about the Feast of Trumpets in a year of Jubilee? I'm hearing some talk about blowing The Shofar again in 7 day.

    1. The year of Jubilee isn't even observed anymore. Hasn't been for a long time. I believe people have gotten these claims from Leviticus (I could be wrong). Regardless, it's still highly likely that this year is in fact a Jubilee, but Israel won't be observing this or changing their feasts accordingly.

      Delete
    2. Because Israel doesn't want to properly observe the feast days, somehow nullifies God's fulfillment of said feast days?

    3. Yehweh will fulfill his Feast appointments with or without Israel's participation. Albeit, preferably with Him than without. :s

    4. Yes....in a jubilee year the shofar is supposed to be sounded on the first day of sukkot .... Tishrei 14 according to Moses in the torah..... no israel may not recognize that but God certainly does

  6. I love this site, but I've honestly become a bit skeptical that anything significant will happen tomorrow. I'd love for it to be true, but I've been made aware that there was a bunch of "September 23rd" hype back in 2015 too, and obviously nothing came of it. Can anyone set me straight on why this year is different? Thanks! :)

    2. I'm pretty new to this site, Isaiah, and I hadn't visited in several days. I find the info presented here compelling, yes, but I still have my doubts. Date setting never has worked, so why should it now? I would love for the Rapture to happen sometime soon. Tomorrow would be awesome! But I'm ready, regardless. :) But some info showing how this year is different from the 2015 hype would be more helpful than "you've got to be kidding me." :) Thanks!

    3. Hi Jeff, I would suggest that you check out some of the articles on this site. It will help you gain a better understanding of why we think 2017 is different. God bless you. I am ready too.

  7. This year is different for a bazillion other reasons. All in the Bible, all happening as we speak as well as happening on a personal level for a ton of believers. Does it mean they are wrong if nothing happens tomorrow? NO, the sign will still be the sign, the Bible still says what it says and we will still believe that Jesus is our Savior and that we are awaiting His return.

  8. Hello, my name is Matthew, I’m 16 years old, and I have autism. I’m a strong believing Christian and I have been watching this site for over a year. I believe that with all the craziness in the world, how can it not be the end?!

Anyway, I am a big NASCAR fan, and I got my daily NASCAR news email. I saw a graphic on the email that caught my eye. Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is the most famous NASCAR driver, runs an XFINITY Series (kind of like the Triple A of NASCAR) team. All four of his drivers are in the playoffs for that series. Well, the graphic was titled, “Dale’s Horsemen” and it had Dale’s face surrounded by fire with all four of his cars in the foreground. It referenced the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and I thought that was peculiar with the times we live in now. I know this is a little bit off topic with the story, but I thought I should share it. Thanks, and may God bless each of you!

    1. Matthew - that is so interesting! Thank you for sharing. My husband is a big Nascar fan and he will want to hear about that for sure.

    2. It is! And some of the stuff in the article is even more telling. For example, the article says that, “William Byron, Justin Allgaier, Elliott Sadler, and Michael Annett are the four horsemen who are galloping their way toward Miami to help bring a shiny trophy to the Earnhardt family once more-especially for Dale Jr.” and, “Now, it’s up to his horsemen to make it to Miami-and it all begins now.” I think about how Miami was ravaged by Irma, and it’s interesting to that Miami is the site of the championship for all three NASCAR series. Maybe it’s a veiled reference to the Four Horsemen, and maybe NASCAR knows something! Who knows?

    3. I saw that today too, Matthew!!! And I thought the same thing!! Very interesting.

  9. Hey guys Jesus is coming soon! We know that empirically and we know that spiritually. If you're like me your spiritual geiger counter has been ticking ever faster. There have been many signs pointing to 2017, the fall feasts and the Rev 12 sign. All these past the test of spiritual discernment. We can say that we do "see the day approaching". I don't know when but I know it is soon. I interact with many people and as opportunity presents I get to tell them about Jesus. Usually I'll see one person saved every 6 weeks; but starting this past
spring that number started to tick up to about one every 2 weeks. Interestingly, one holdout came to Christ because of my discussion of prophecy. Remember "God is not slack concerning his promises....". There's a sign tomorrow. Maybe we get to go home and maybe not but there is a sign tomorrow. Halleljuah!

  10. Well, the fake news has stirred up a hornet's nest--now, because of the firestorm from the fake news, people are having to learn all about the astronomical alignment and what it may mean. More people will now look into this than may have sought the meaning otherwise. I'd say, 'all things work together for the good of those who love God and the called according to His purposes." Nothing happens that surprises our God. Neither should it surprise us who believe He is coming soon for His Bride.

  12. Any time subjects such as "Bible prophecy" or "End Times" catch the attention of the mainstream media, they always think "End of the World". It's a reflex. Then they project their own misconceptions onto anybody who takes the Bible seriously. If any date-setting can be found in any of the sources they bother to check (which wasn't hard this time) they'll highlight that, then ridicule the whole idea of biblical prophecy when things don't go according to schedule. The pattern is so predictable, I'll bet it's entrenched in college media courses.

  16. Regardless of what happens... this Rev. 12 Sign has changed me. The reality of the inevitable Rapture of the church has finally sunk in. It has allowed me to accept what is coming and to never go back to the complacency of my previous existence. Just the thought of meeting Yeshua and REALLY coming to the understanding that it WILL happen has given me a completely different outlook on life, my future, and my purpose. Will He will be here on the 23rd??... I sure hope so. But when He does come... it will be His perfect timing and I will be ready and anxiously awaiting for the rest of my life here.

  19. Anyone in the northern hemisphere can observe the sign taking shape at sunrise and sunset; you don't have to be in the Middle East to see the alignments. I've been observing it for the last few days; Venus, Mars, Mercury at around 6:30 in the morning and the Moon and Jupiter at around 7:30 in the evening. It's been fun to watch.

I am grateful that we are alive to actually see verses in the Bible come to life. Now on to the next verse...and another sign, a great and fiery dragon...this is sobering..I am keeping my eyes open and my heart close to God. To all my family in Christ...we keep our lamps full, no time for sleeping now...(while the bridegroom tarried)...pray we can offer hope to each other and to others who are asleep. Pray we are counted worthy to stand...and a special prayer for every one of our watchmen.( Unsealed, Scott Clark , Jerry T , Barry S, Adam and a host of others)..I thank you for a job well done, I pray for strength and wisdom to keep going..Pray for the Spirit to give us even more wisdom and an even deeper Love for our Father in Heaven. May HIS perfect will be done...AMEN

  25. Please please you who TRULY want to follow the TRUE Christ, you who think you may be one of God's elect, READ 2Thessalomians WITH UNDERSTANDING! Especially chapter2. That "son of perdition is none other than Satan, the FALSE christ. He comes first, performing supernatural feats that will dazzle and fool ALL of those who know not the truth, but rather in laziness cling to the LIE of "rapture" like a security blanket. Know the truth and the truth will make you FREE. DON'T disappoint our Father by falling for the evil lying one. 2Thess. verses 9 through 12- "strong delusion"!!!! This Rev 12 prophecy IS sent by God, but it is only the beginning of the strong delusion. Of COURSE we are anxious for our Lord of Lords to return to us! But you must be aware that He would NOT take away His best soldiers and leave only unbelievers to face Satan. The elect WILL be delivered up so the Holy Spirit can speak through them just as happened on Pentacost day after Christ's ascension.
I love my brothers and sisters in Christ, and I DON'T want them to be ashamed. PRAY. FIND TRUTH. Ask Him if you really want eyes to see & ears to hear. Bless you all.

    1. I say this with peace and respect so don't get me wrong but these are the views that should be brought before the Lord with lots and lots of prayers not the notion of the pre-tribulation rapture!

      Delete
    2. Oh believe me, I did indeed pray about it. My view IS Biblical and quite appropriate for anyone with God's truth to share it if so lead. Even if just one person sees the truth, it was a seed well planted. I do realize many can't handle the truth and that's fine. Romans 11, 8 - 10 ...."God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear.." That word slumber is "stupor" in Greek. God did this to protect those who could not handle the truth, he knows that they will worship the false christ even if they knew better. They'd be held accountable. The blinding shows His compassion for His children.
      Bless you. Sleep on.

  26. jennI..Thank you for providing me with company. We are here to try and give hope to those who are expecting to escape the trials ahead. When we see the antichrist come to power in the near future , it wont bee because we weren't ready for the rapture, the rapture isn't ready until certain events take place.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If you like to call Christ's return to us a "rapture" ok whatever, but that word's not Biblical. Simplest put, if the antichrist is here saying he is Jesus but we are all still in flesh bodies, it proves he is a LIAR. 666 comes before 777.

      Delete
    2. Hi jennO - I thought the same thing, that the word rapture was not biblical. But that is actually not true. In the Greek, the word used was harpazo. When St. Jerome translated the bible from Greek to Latin, he translated harpazo as raptus, which means rapture. The problem here is the English translation. But rapture is absolutely biblical.

      Delete
  27. I do not believe the Rapture is a delusion...We will all be changed..We will join Jesus in the clouds. Its the "when" and that is up to GOD ALONE...But whether we are with Christ or here on this planet..We need to seek to do Gods work and whether we are caught up or die for our Faith in Christ. Does not matter as long as we are with Jesus eternally. He died for us, let us live for Him!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jesus said .".see to it that you are not deceived". He told us how the AC would come.He also told us of HIS RETURN ..in the clouds and every eye will see HIM.. NO mistake there!!

  29. JennO's comment is very revealing. Her contemptuous tone of admonishment is highly questionable referring to those Christians who comfort themselves in the Lord Jesus return for us before the Great Day of GOD's wrath as lazy. She further states that the Rev. 12 sign that happened today is meant by GOD to be the start of His strong delusion. However, that would mean GOD is aiming at deluding the very people who are actually watching for Jesus return from Heaven to save us from the wrath to come. Those are the same people Paul cites as sons of the day. Therefore, jennO is saying GOD is aiming to bring delusion on the very people of His who are doing his will and looking for Jesus' return and accepting the comfort of this knowledge as Paul by the Holy Spirit said for us to comfort ourselves with those words. I could go on further about how sadly half-baked and deluded jennO's comments and her friends Nora and Stan are. I can't help but wonder if these three actually know each other and agreed to post on this website together. Praise GOD for the Holy Spirit who enables us to perceive false teachings. Don't let your hearts be troubled brothers and sisters for Jesus is truly, truly returning soon to take us home before the wrath of GOD/Jacob's trouble comes upon the world. We are not children of the night, but of the day and a sign of that is that we are truly watching with eager anticipation of being with our Savior and Lord Jesus. To those in the above posts who are jubilant about today's sign from GOD for His children of the day like Matthew,Chrisse, Gary and others I say with love, Keep looking up because Jesus is even at the door, praise GOD!!... Don't let anyone or anything steal your joy and comfort that is rooted in the word of GOD about our Savior Jesus coming to Save us in the twinkling of an eye. See you in the clouds soon with all our brother's and sister's in Christ our Glorious Savior!!... :)

    1. Hello. I am sorry but you do err. I did not state that God would send strong delusion. Our FATHER said it through the apostle Paul. I'll take His word for it, not man's.
2 Thessalonians. Read it? Sorry if you sense my tone as contemptuous. Yes I spoke strongly but that seems necessary for something so important, as time is short. By the way, in 1 Thess. when Paul wrote the word "clouds" he meant not up in the sky, but as in a very large group. An expression, like saying " a cloud of locusts". "...meet the Lord in the air.." The word there for "air" is pneumatic" as in wind. We will be in our spiritual bodies instantly at the return of the true Christ. Paul wrote 2 Thess as a warning to the church NOT to be confused by his 1st letter, starts in chapter 2.
Not trying to "steal anyone's joy". Wouldn't you rather like to have the real thing? I may be casting pearls where I should not, but I feel that God understands my intention was to help.

Please check my previous comments! I've been always pro-pre-trib rapture concerning my views and I still am. I'm not agreeing with jennO's views and his/her attitude either.

    5. Sorry, Nora. When you said,"...not the notion of the pre-tribulation rapture!" I figured it was demeaning such a view point of the pre-trib as a notion. Sorry again. Please forgive me for grouping you with such an arrogant, convoluted, and bellicose person. I hope she wakes up soon and finds the peace of Jesus that she is hotly warring against.

    6. It's okay LookingUp, no worries! :) The Lord taking us in a pre-trib rapture is my blessed hope! 31. I saw this interesting passage of scripture in Leviticus 12. This was brought to my attention in video I saw two days ago.

Lev. 12:3-4 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

The woman was not allowed into the sanctuary until 33 days after the circumcision eight days after the birth. I thought that was very interesting.
